What is up with your nephew Vernon Vaughan? Is he playing at K-State?

No Vernon took a medical hardship. He had four surgeries on his knee and it just didn't work out for him. He will stay on scholarship at kstate. Just saw him yesterday and he is doing well. Injuries are a part of it unfortunately.

Mill Valley should have a great season, but I am unsure how they are considered KVL with so few KVL games. They only play three KVL teams in total, with one of them (Turner) a districts game.

I agree. They are a member of the kvl. I totally get why this was done and agree but i don't get this part.

So with Mill Valley actually not being independent, are you prepared to change your KVL predictions? Shouldhave researched Iinstead of shooting from the hip. No wonder some coaches don't buy into what you think you are doing for the area.

One out of 14 isn't a bad percentage. Mill Valley playing 3 games and still being eligible to win league is weird. I would have to look but that is probably a unique situation. Diminishes the league race. You sound mad or antagonistic. Relax.

Thoughts on basehor basketball this year?

They will have a poy candidate on the squad again this year. Mcpherson will have to be consistent along with jack dale. There are a couple of nice guards to add into this mix. Gilliam i think is his last name.

Your comment about Piper bball shows you're nothing more than a fan and really don't do any analysis. You really know Noth about the make up of the team and abilities of anyone but Eskina. Do some research or just admit you don't really know and are shooting from the hip.

I would get this analysis from evaluating the jv team? There will be a lot of players getting their first taste of varsity action outside Eskina and Beebe. I spoke at length about this last year. A ton of seniors played and only 2 underclassmen suited up for that last game. I am of the opinion that if the jv guys were not pressing to take minutes from the 7th senior on the team then what again have I missed. A fan of Piper and think highly of the new coach and the player who will be playing this year but it is my opinion they are going to lean on Vince.

Whats your thought on the new lansing coaching staff

I haven't met coach McCall but the coaches represented well. OC sounded excited about the weapons he has. I heard some concern with the line. I am looking forward to seeing it come together.

What has been your experience working with parents of athletes?

I honestly have not had a single negative interaction. I pissed off a parent at Tongie when posted a big hit but I think we got squared up. I have parents though now that I consider friends. Most are very supportive of what i am trying to build up in the city.

Washington has a solid coach and many good athletes. If they can stay disciplined they will be very good. They were cocky at Media day and hopefully they can back it up. I think Piper is still the best overall team in the conferences you cover though. Lansing also has some talent on O, hopefully the

Are you doing the radio show again this year?

It will be a podcast but yes. Vernon, Austin and I will do the show. First episode of season 2 should be coming in the next week or so.

Why do you have Washington ahead of Piper, you don't really believe they could beat Piper in a head to head game. Coach Brindle could coach circles around that joke of a coach at Washington.

Really? I am fine with answering questions but please be respectful. Piper has a solid defense but will be starting a new qb. He is a senior and has varisty experience at other sports but none the less a first year starter. I am high on Washington and I guess it is entirely possible that I am wrong once this year.

What games are you going to broadcast?

Well week one we will be at Piper. I need to think about the games beyond that. We will see how the matchups go.

What did you think of the wyandotte coach?

Lol. He wasnt there. I have spoke to him a couple of times. Young first time head coach. We will see.

Dorian, Smith at atchison were very raw. Troyer I think was realistic as well.

Thoughts on Lansing basketball

I heard that K had a good summer. kenneth banks back as well. I think Clay Youngs brother is back as well. They cant help but take a step back though.

Kvl basketball will sure be fun this year! Between basehor, bonner, piper, and a few other schools!

Basehor and Bonner maybe. bonner will depend on how much the twins improve as well as Adams. The jury is out on Piper. One starter back and it will be slim from a scoring perspective after that. We will have to watch if Beebe plays. I like Mill Valley. Turner could be improved too.
