Basehor vs Bishop Meige. Who you got?

I have not seen Miege yet but they got smacked hard by BVNW. Now I understand that BVNW has a very talented group of guards so not a hell of a lot of shame losing to them. I get mixed signals on Bol Bol but who knows if they figure that out before they play in Spring. There is a long way to go but I won't pick until I see Miege play.

Does Basehor have the ability to return back to the state championship game?

I just dont know enough about the teams out west. They are certainly a favorite to get there.

Who will finish last in basketball (KVL)

Hmm. I know Turner has a D1 kid and a couple of other talented players. Mill Valley is very good at baseball and has a pretty good left handed pitcher and D1 player. Piper is a year removed from going to state. That leaves Tongie, Ward and Basehor and this is just insight into my educated guess. I am going to go with Ward which I know is likely blasphemy.

Thoughts on Tonganoxie boys basketball? They have a fairly weak junior and senior class but the sophomore class seems pretty solid.

I have not seen them yet and they didn't make it out for media day. I do know they lost a solid player in Rinnes' to Turner. I honestly don't know much more than that.

how good do you think bonner will be next year

I assume this is a football question. I am confident that coach Aslin keeps it going. We got a look at Cole Oakes so we have a good idea on who the QB will be. Bonner has good numbers out and participating which typically leads to a competitive team.

When will you hold the football awards ceremony?

January 9th. I am asking all the players named to be there for pictures and trophy presentations. Faith City Church at 4:00 PM.

Last year I asked you about BLHS Girls basketball. I was frustrated by the amount of girls the coach suited up and played on varsity. Am I missing something...... Why suit up 13 players? Why are the top 5 players not playing the majority of minutes? His substitutions make no sense! Your thoughts?

I am behind on my questions. I will speak about as openly as I can here. Coach does not have a good collection of talent. It behooves him to try and develop some talent and the best way to do that is to have a lot of players playing. Piper provided a flat reality check and Basehor girls should be careful they are not beaten by Turner for example. If there was a flat world beater on the team then I get it play them but I would be curious to know who you feel should be playing that many more minutes.

How do you feel about mill valley basketball?

I am very high on the boys. The girls should be pretty good as well. I will admit going into the season that I thought they would be the favorite to win the KVL and go back to state. Koch, Kaifes and Conklin is a pretty good trio of guards with Holmberg playing big.

When would the all shukc team be posted on your site ?

The league teams are the first trigger. i use coach feed back through those lists for lineman. i have kvl team but not the kcal team yet. There is still some things pending for poy and top prospect awards.

What do you know about Pittsburg? Will Mill Valley have any trouble on Friday?

I am hoping to watch the scout film to see. pretty sure this is who beat mill valley last year. they are 8-1 as well so I am not predicting any kind of blowout. no bad teams at this point. hopefully mill valley comes out strong.

Are you planning on doing a defensive shukc team this year?

Yes I will have an All SHUKC Team and award ceremony again this year. sponsors appreciated.

Top linemen in the KVL this year?

I am going to be looking. Hecht is obvious. need to see who stood out on Bonners line as well.

Who are some players who can go straight D1 or D2 in KCAL league and KVL

D2 depends heavily on ACT to be able to afford it. Talent wise players like Sloan, Randle Gill Jackson could play D2 easy. D1 is so tough to get in.

Your top athletes who can play on Saturdays ?

There are many who will get a shot at Jucos. too many to name will get a shot.

That's a joke, what's the point of even playing regular season games?

League races. Atchison simply needed to avoid getting smacked. unfortunate but everyone knew the deal going. credit to Piper.

How did Atchison not make the playoffs? Weren't they undefeated prior to their last game?

4 teams in a district. the only games that count to go to playoffs are last 3. atchison basehor and piper all finished 2-1 but because atchison only won by 5 at basehor then lost by more than 21 in the last game they lost point differential in those 3 games.

How long did your walk take this morning?

2 and a half hours. knees were talking to me that last hill up to Piper. no sidewalks!!

Who do you think will be Bonner Springs high running back next year ??

I wouldnt know that just yet. big shoes to fill.
