Where is the funniest place you have ever fallen asleep?

I fell asleep on an old boat I had at Tonganoxie lake (fantastic cat fishing). Slept long enough that my battery went dead keeping the light on. One paddle and it took 3 hours to get back to the dock.

No I do not. I am willing to listen though if someone wants to tell me.

What school do you think will win the KCK League championship this football season?

Wyandotte should go undefeated in league. I will drink 32 ounces of V8 juice if they don't.

Who has the best possibility at a state title in the KVL?

In football I will be extremely honest and say that even the best possibility is not a very good one. What Piper did was unprecedented in this area. I could be wrong but KCK school just don't go to the final 4 at any level. Youth programs are good to help get us to where we want to be. I am high on Tongie and Piper in the KVL in relation to a playoff run.

Do you watch track

Not as much as I would like to. Vernon Birmingham is very much into track and actually has a track team that he works with. I am a firm believer that power lifting or track are an awesome foundation for football and basketball. I am actually getting involved in a KCK alumni track meet. Be on the look out for that.

Do you think Lansing's QB Krystian Abbott. WR Khalil Bailey. And FB Christian Porter can lead the lions to a positive win season?

I will say yes pending the outcome of what the offensive line looks like. If the line can't block then no they are not going to have the time to take full advantage of Bailey. Bailey is going to get doubled a lot so can he beat doubles or is there another weapon that can make a team pay for doing this. Porter is going to have a big year.

Who are the top 3 linebackers for the KVL this year?

Colton Beebe, Jake Phillips, Cory McCleary (spelling). I need to watch Christian Porter from Lansing closely. He showed well at 7 on 7.

Will you cover the volleyball season this year?

I will post results if coaches share them. I will be honest that I don't know anything about the game. I am sure I will get results from Doug Key from Piper and I hope that trend will continue with more AD this year getting and then sharing the results. I will have volleyball awards like last year using expertise from coaches in the area.

If you are going to do an all star game for baseball this year would be a good time to do it, there isn't very much talent left after the next few years

I would strongly disagree with that. But perhaps you could be scouting 3&2 for middle school talent. I know of a very good 15U squad with players from KVL and KCAL. Future is brighter for baseball in my opinion.

What about the defense of line for piper?

I will need to research. Pretty sure the big nose guard graduated. I don't have any names yet.

How do you think the Wyandotte county schools could do against shawnee missions and olathe schools?

In basketball we can and do compete. Finding 5 to 10 players to buy in and put in the work to be good is a hell of a lot easier than finding 20 players of the right size and skill to do the same in football. The culture we need in KCK starts in grade school. It is not instilled so it is hard to get the dedication. Need to make sure we compare apples to apples in terms of number of students at a school.

Preseason all shukc team?

I would really need to research this one. I may write an article on this before the season starts. I don't have enough details on lineman.

Is Nick Chaney "2Tons" going to be a player to watch this year?

I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Mr. 2Tons. I would have to look him up.

Where do you rate Cobbins vs KCAL RB's?

I would rank him 3rd or 4th right now. Javeon Williams is top on my list at RB. Antonio Moore, Austin Housh. I think he takes a step forward though in 2013.

All star football game a possibility? Many fans for sure would attend

The logistics of football are so much more than basketball. I am honestly worried about doing that one. I am focusing my efforts on preparation for the season with work outs and possible football camps. right now that possibility is not good.

Who do you think will be the top basketball teams in 4A this year?

Hayden is always good. Piper and Basehor should be good. I am intrigued by Jack Dale at Tongie. If there is anything building around him then they will have a good squad.

How do you think atchison high basketball will be this year?

I will be very honest that I haven't researched it much. I know that they lose a very explosive player in Tyson Downing. I will dig into this one.

Where do you see Sumner football in 2 years?

2 years Cobbins would be gone but you have the potential to have a powerful duo. We will need to see what Ben Miller turns out to be. I need to see the defense.

Why don't you cover KVL baseball?

I should have done more but I have to get info from coaches and AD's. I will be honest that after the All Star game I was tired so I neglected Track and Baseball. We will broadcast baseball games this season. I also have an All Star baseball game in mind. Depends on if I get support for the idea.

Who was the best KVL linebacker last year?

We named Colton Beebe the best defensive player of the year. It would be a tad silly for me to name someone else.

Your a 100% sure piper will win 4a substate ?

Basehor-Linwood will be a threat to that. As I was reminded by Chase Younger yesterday they did beat Piper twice last season. But yes I am very sure that my pick is Piper. As always I reserve the right to be wrong.

Do you think piper is going to struggle this season for losing a defense full of seniors and the offensive line?

Yes. Blake Martin specifically is going to be a huge loss. He made life better for Colton Beebe. Who steps up to prevent double teams on Beebe? Ortiz is a huge offensive lineman with a lot of potential. needs to get his foot work down. Here is the deal on the offensive line. Brindle's philosophy on moving Tanner Eikenbary around makes up for inefficiency at the offensive line. We will see who steps up.

Top 10 dline in kvl?

I don't know that I can even name 10 DLineman right now. This is also hard to research because not all coaches have defensive stats from last year posted. This highlights a big problem at some of the schools. Dumler is the easy answer. Richard at Piper is another that I think will be a stand out but I am not sure if he will be a linebacker or a defensive end. I need to research this a bit.

Record for ward this upcoming season?

right now 1-7 with the option to go to 2 wins if Brull is able to get Barnhart on the field as a skill position player.
