McBride must be one heckuva coach to have players transfer schools to join his program! Dale is solid and will be a good addition, but Muldoon is the man in BL.

I said it earlier he is doing something right or the players there are a good draw. Muldoon is pre season favorite for POY next year imo.

Looking at the conversation about NAIA schools, would you say then that a kid who gets a full ride to an NAIA school is very fortunate? That sounds like a huge accomplishment if it happens.

From an education stand point yes while still getting to play their sport of choice. I am very proud of every single one of the young men and women that are going naia.

Everyone seems to be forgetting Basehor's advantages in the strength and conditioning programs. It is no coincidence that they have won the powerlifting state championship in mens and womens for 5 years straight. This could have also been a factor in Dale's decision.

Very true. It is second to none right now. basehor is setting the standard here that I wish all schools could follow.

Tongie vs Basehor is going to be a fun game next year.. Maybe biggest game in the KVL ever.. (Crowd wise) but I would expect some intentional fouls!

I hope not. I will not be nice in publicly stating any displeasure of something like that. Kids should just raise their level of play.

Tongie and Basehor have around the same test scores... So jack defiantly went just for basketball

I haven't been able to ask him so it is all speculation.

Defiantly recruiting done in this dale tthing

I don't believe that to be the case from everything I have heard. You need everyone in on recruiting including the board. Making them move to make this happen is not creating loopholes.

I go to Tongie he is such a disappointment it sucks so bad #trader

I am sure there will be plenty that feel this way. It is just sports though and I am sure he is still a friend. Please keep this in mind. If you are a player then go all out against him. If you are a fan cheer against him but keep it there.

(IF YOU HAD TOO) what side are you more leaning with on dale scandal

I don't think he has done anything really malicious here. If he sucked no one would say a word about it but he happens to be a good player. In the end it just shows that exposure is important. Everyone wants to be recognized for what they can do. I hate to see transfers with in league but Earl Watson transfered to Washington from Schlagle so it happens with the best of the best.

So hyped for the Tongie vs basehor

Me too!! I don't think it will be a good game but it should be hype.

I wonder if the Murphy family lived in Tongie and not Basehor would we be talking about Tongie and Basehor's roles reversed? When the twin's were freshman Tongie had a nice team and Basehor had to beat Tongie to go to state. The twin's senior year Tongie had McPherson to take the role of Johnson.

That is the story of a small town team. Hard to get all the pieces at once.

If all the rumors are true, I do think it is ironic that a family move to a district where everyone was just complaining about that coach after the state tourney. And if you uprooted your family to be on a more talented team, the most talented don't always win. Ask KU.

I am not sure what you are talking about. KU basketball talent was the most over rated not talented. all accounts has this is true.

From experience mcbride is not building a phenomenal program he is still an average coach who is a control freak

He already has a program with two rings. If your head coach is not in control of his program then he is probably not winning very much. You simply can't please everyone.

Are Tongie and Basehor people feuding about a kid changing schools? That is so 3 days ago, let's move on please, nobody cares. Note to Tongie folk, get better coaches and facilities. Hint, hint.

No fued just disappointment by one fan base or students. We are talking about teenagers so yes I do think it matters to them.

Let me just note that Basehor was a Blue Ribbon school in 2012. Uhhhh don't believe Tongie got that award... So all Tongie students should probably quit complaining that a kid left their school and respect his decision. Thank you, that's all I wanted to say. And I look forward to playing Tongie @ To

I am not sure what the blue ribbon means just yet. been researching this a lot. kck requires all juniors to take the act whether they plan to attend college or not. partial factor of their low scores. I can't find stats on % of kids that take the test at any school. you averaged 22.5 or what ever but if 20% didn't take it then it is probably the kids with no college aspirations and would drag that score down.

Most people don't have a clue how much NAIA schools cost ? Benedictine costs approx $33000 a year, Ottawa is around $28,000 St Mary, Baker, etc...are similar. Even with a $15000 a year scholarship the bills add up. Thats just tuition. KU,Kstate,Pitt St,Emporia St,Ft Hays St are great options !

Especially KState!!

Dale transfer isn't academic because I believe his younger brother and sister still attend Tongie.

heh

Wonder why school board wouldn't want him? You'd think they'd love such an athletic kid. Maybe his grades aren't so hot...

School boards should not make decisions like that based on his athletics. Just for the reason we are talking about. avoid talk of recruiting. if you want to come here move.

He could most definitely shoot more. Ended up with 106 attempts, needs to be a little more selfish.

Stats don't lie. I stand corrected as I couldnt find that feasily. five shots a game is simply not enough.

So "it's all for school is BS." If it's for basketball, just say it's for basketball. They actually moved houses, right? So there's really no hard feelings. KHSHAA says if you MOVE into the school district, you can begin playing immediately. If you transfer electively, you have to wait to play

I have heard and again this is not confirmed that the school board turned down a straight transfer so they moved in district.

Recruiting goes on at every school. People come to Lansing for volleyball and basketball. People go to LV for football. Private schools can straight up recruit and offer scholarships. But I've looked at test scores and Basehor's are about the same as Tongie's. Basically just for basketball.

Yeah I looked at that. aveage scores were very close on the act..
