What's a word you feel you use too often? What's a word you feel you don't use often enough?

Thankfully I have purged so and like from my vocabulary but I do use too many superlatives like fantastic, terrific, great etc when describing things as I have certainly not perfected my prose style when captioning my blog.

I am considering a big shift from French and Latin words to Saxon words but haven't had much success either so I suppose relatively simple and homely words are ones I don't used enough as I haven't taken all the pretentiousness out of my speech/writing yet.

? ? Have you ever been attacked by an animal of any kind (except human), or thought you were about to be? ? ? What happened?

CactusDoug’s Profile PhotoDoug
I haven't actually, because I know better than to go near certain animals, of which cows are the worst; they can actually get quite nasty, as I discovered when I had to run from some cows in a field and leave my bike behind. They were sniffing round the bike for several minutes and I thought they might ruin it, but didn't dare intervene. Then they eventually went away and I rode out of the field into which I'd somehow blundered.
Upon getting home I discovered I was quite shaken so I have given cows a wide birth since then as they are much worse than they look when grazing in a field.

Love!

A real woman has two duties:...

To be true to herself and to do good.
The same duties a real man has (or for that matter, all unreal people).

What kind of dish can you cook?

I can do a really first-rate vegetarian curry. Since it's summer I've been cooking a lot of soups; I had broad bean soup last week and this week I'll cook a soup of fresh tomatoes with peppers.

Also, today I cooked a polenta cake which was nice with some drinking chocolate.

How does your behaviour change when you fall in love?

When you can listen to Steve Wright's Sunday Love Songs without wanting to barf?
I've never been in love if that's the definition!

? When I was in primary (elementary) school we had to do Maths in Roman Numerals (!). What’s the most pointless thing you learned (or at least they tried to teach you) at school?

The way art was 'taught' left me cold and made me hate art for several years. Eventually I started going to art galleries and became an artist myself

Not showing off but I have turned out to be good at art, so why did the teachers assume I was talentless at their subject and must be a stupid person by extension? (I was good at everything else but they didn't know or care about that).
So I sincerely hope the youth of today are geing taught better than I was but I fear not.

If you were a teacher, what subject would be yours? ?

I'd do history as it's my main interest and the subject I studied at university. I'd rather be a researcher in a library or something than have to deal with students though?
