What’s your favorite weather? Tell me why you like it?

AmericanLass’s Profile PhotoC.
Welcome back, I haven't seen you for a bit? :)
I like a good, crisp autumn day, cool & dry.
In November I went to a very rural part of Shropshire, right on the border with Wales. (It was interesting because the medieval border ran through the area so we were often in places that were Welsh then but English now, and still have many Celtic traits).
Because my dog is scared of fireworks, which are often let off on Bonfire Night (an event that really pisses me off), I went to the furthest place from any fireworks, drinking real ale, reading a book about AE Housman, enjoying this amazing weather.

Are you avoiding someone ? Or trying to ?

No, but in 2007-8 I went through a big episode of that!
I was about to move with my friend into a house as I didn't want to live with my parents for obvious reasons. It was owned by a friend of my friend (though I never liked him) had moved to Scotland, I didn't actually know his name but he called himself Wolf for some reason.
I was only in this house for a month when my friend had a massive argument with Wolf, I wasn't there but I found out it when my friend said Wolf had evicted us both and said he would kill us if he saw us. Having met him, it wasn't an idle threat! I've got no idea what made me imagine it was a good idea to live in the house he owned but for a long time I was looking over my shoulder, then he went to prison so that was that.
Once I saw him in the city and managed to escape, then after that I thankfully haven't seen him.

Do an @ for the last person you had a crush on?

AmericanLass’s Profile PhotoC.
Alicia Vikander, not only a stunning lady but also a very accomplished actress. Despite being from Sweden and having (obvs) no connection to upper-middle-class Edwardian Englishwomen, she paid Vera Brittain in Testament of Youth perfectly. And I hear she is in tomb raider, I don't imagine I'd enjoy that film but I couldn't help noticing the trailers ;)

What if the chamomile tea is no longer soothing?

I don't know fam, is this a literal question about tea or some kind of profound existential question about life?
I like to drink rooibos tea myself, I drink it black, have you tried that?

Which superpower does not make any sense? why?

Saudi Arabia, what the hell are Maybot and the orangeman doing catering to them given their atrocities in the Yemen and supprt for extremists in Syria and elsewhere?
Why do far-right "patriots" who "love their country" have nothing to say?
They might say it's just to make money and keep hard-pressed arms dealers in work but is it worth it!

What places are good for making new acquaintances?

It depends where you live and what your interests are?
I recommend you do voluntary work in the field you're most interested in, for instace I myself volunteer at a local beauty spot. I did it mainly because the work was worth doing, but I have met people through that as well, presumably you could do the same in your field of interest?

What do you think about astrology? How often do you read horoscopes? ✨

Surely the notion that great lumps of rock whirling in space
knew something about your day that you didn't must take a bit of a knock from the fact that there was suddenly a new lump of rock out there that nobody had known about before.

That must throw a few calculations out, mustn't it?

What about all those star charts and planetary motions and
so? We all knew (apparently) what happened when Neptune
was in Virgo, and so on, but what about when Rupert was
rising? Wouldn't the whole of astrology have to be rethought?
Wouldn't now perhaps be a good time to own up that it was
all just a load of hogwash and instead take up pig-farming, the principles of which were founded on some kind of rational basis?

What famous tennis players do you like?

I don't know about any tennis players, I have nothing against them but I don't like them, having never heard of them?

Do you ever look at who "liked" your answers and wonder why? Do you make assumptions about users based on the answers they "liked"?

I do wonder why certain of my answers go viral, such as this.

It's a good answer, I stand by the views I expressed, but I don't see why it's so much better than my other answers, some of which don't get any likes, it's all very odd!?
I like to hope the reason behind my likes is fairly straightforward, I click on answers I agree with that are well thought out & interesting.

friendly kiss - is it ok?

If the person you want to kiss is ok with it, yes.
If not, no.
This is a bit complicated as in some cultures, such as France, it's common to kiss friends on both cheeks, which is very rare in a Protestant country, so people will have different views on what's acceptable.
The basic rule is only to do to people who want to be kissed and, if people do it to you & it makes you uncomfortable, to ( though I know this is hard) to make them aware of it.

Where is it better for you to watch movies - at home or at a cinema? and why?

At a cinema with friends, then a discussion of the themes & morals of the film.
Then (if it was good!) buy the DVD and have a second viewing at hone alone and read the reviews to enhance understanding,

How do you think, what is the most comfortable climatic belt for life? Where would you like to live?

I moan but I do like the climate of (preferably southern) England.
Though we could learn from Singapore and have dawn at 7am and dusk at 7pm every day! It makes such more sense than going to and from work in the dark some days, being woken up at 4am others!
