Podcasts: Underrated or overrated?

I love podcasts! I’ve been glued to the wireless since I started working from home!
Tim Harford is the king of podcasts for me, and his star turn on More or Less has really helped me understand covid and all areas of statistics, a field I know almost nothing about.

Although ‘freedom’-loving conservatives and ultra-left ‘resistance’ tits alike hate the BBC, it is the finest broadcaster in the world, and if we didn’t have it broadcasting would be dumbed down and a subscription-only service would be more expensive than the licence fee now is, so I embrace it!
Those who say podcasts are bad have just not found the right podcasts!

The Scottish unionism/nationalism question bothers me as I’m a unionist but fear the nationalists are going to win, and it will be because of Brexit and the spies & conmen in London, with the arseholes in England who voted for them.
I don’t expect this to be good for anyone, but I can hardly blame the people who support nationalism. The yes/no question can be solved by having a government in London and people who serve everyone and have respect for every nation, but that’s unlikely to ever happen so I fear the end is nigh.
Not a good thought for any time, let alone 6:25 am!?

Today is international day of persons with disabilities. What's something you feel people should know about either disabilities in general, people with disabilities or a specific disability?

I know it’s been said before but that not all disabilities are visible, that people who have to claim claim disability benefits aren’t scrounges or people who have ‘nothing wrong with them’ just because A. Tory has failed to notice.
Also that rather than judge those who are different to them, ‘normal’ people consider all the excellent reasons why someone would want to be different to them, such as the fact that they’re thick as mince and being different to that is good.
Best if I stop now.

Yes, when I was picking up litter and some deranged man started shouting at me that picking up litter was illegal and I was spreading covid. He was really angry about what the voices in his head told him I was doing, despite the total lack of any reason.
You can’t argue with that sort of person, so I just got away as fast as I could.

When David Hockney started his exhibition A Bigger Picture, it was actually panned by critics and not very well liked by the public, but I was inspired!
He gave me the idea of making my calendars and becoming a photographer posting contrasting pictures of the same place, in different seasons.
Especially as he used technology, this was my launch!?

Planting trees in Scotland (in Glen Affric), which I did every year from 2016 to 2019, sadly didn’t in 2020 due to covid, but hope to start in 2021!
We have to fence off our trees because if we didn’t they would be eaten by deer and sheep, like in most of Britain.
The first group came here in 1991 and did this, and if you look on both sides of the fence you can see their legacy 25 years later!
It can be hard work, but I always think this is what we can do together!

I think they should play the song as it was recorded. It’s fairly obvious that it isn’t meant as an insult to gay men, and anything that smacks of censorship will just pointlessly annoy right-wingers and make them worse.
I really like The Pogues and, while that song is a bit overplayed, if you listen to the radio less often (thus avoiding the tat that’s mostly played) you’ll see that it is a classic!

In recent years dietitians have advised us against eating the amount of carbs we see in the food pyramid. Regardless of what you eat, do you think it's wiser to follow the food pyramid they enforced when we were children or the one they enforce nowadays and why?
