Why is England so cold 🥶

chocochipcookie984’s Profile Photo◦•●◉✿Becky✿◉●•◦
It’s actually less cold in winter than other countries on the same latitude, and less hot in summer, because the Gulf Stream gives more balance.
Though I agree, that’s not a consolation on days like this! This seemingly everlasting rain is also bothering me, and is because of climate change.

If you could say one thing to your younger self what would it be?

Oliviaaah’s Profile PhotoLiv
Nothing that he would have listened to!
The thing I wish I’d known is that school isn’t forever, the troubles of youth aren’t forever, and adult life is hardly a barrel of laughs but at least you get perspective and become less powerless over time.

What do you think about the whole 'work from home' thing?

SlimMan’s Profile PhotoBilly Walker
I really liked working from home in lockdown (I work for an insurance company so found it easy). I could do all my work, had no trouble concentrating, and didn’t mind overtime as I could do it in comfort. No one walking up to me and badgering me!
After three months, I was missing my friends and colleagues I get on with, so was glad to get into the hybrid model we then followed, 3 days in, 2 days at home.
Since then, wfh was abolished, apart from when working antisocial hours, for which we get time in lieu.
I would rather go back to the hybrid model or have one day a week wfh as the commute, and being nagged all day, really makes things worse than rpthey need to be.

When you joined Ask, did you think you'd be here as long as you have been? 😶

blanketslug’s Profile PhotoC ❀
I can’t actually remember joining! It was probably around 2015. Some of the people I interacted with then are still here, which is good as they’re still cool. And I’ve found some new followers who are also cool. But as to what I was thinking at that time, I can’t recall?

Today is world book day..what classic books as child was your favourite book 📖

missygls’s Profile Photoᴳᴸメ
The Hobbit.
Because it was a catholic school, we were encouraged to read books by CS Lewis, Tolkien and the like, to get it into our heads.
Didn’t quite work on me but yes, he’s still one of my favourite authors.
