🍹 Do you drink cocktails? If you don't drink, do you ever have mocktails?

I drank a cocktail a few weeks ago, though I normally drink beer or rum & coke. I did have to point at the menu because it was a bit embarrassing to tell a young, attractive waitress that I wanted ‘naked & famous’!

Have you ever had any drugs?

SlimMan’s Profile PhotoBilly Walker
I class alcohol and coffee as drugs, and have slightly too much of both, but not much too much and I’ve cut down on both.
When on holiday

I had adventures in weed. First, I lit a joint and drank cannabis juice. This was the best experience as I was buzzed and not stoned.
Then I made a big mistake and drank 100 thc of cannabis at once! (I don’t know what dose I had on my first trip but it was clearly a lot less than that). As it turns out, this is a huge overdose.
I got paranoia and thought I was burning in hell, then that I was being eaten by worms. As it wore off very slowly, I threw myself into bed. The sane part of my mind told me under no circumstances to go online, that asking for help would do more harm than good, and to stay in my room.
I went to bed after the first ten minutes, which were the worst. Two hours later I was almost fully asleep and the thoughts were almost gone. Four hours later I was opening a window and drinking water, which I think shows that my thinking head had taken over.
Thirteen hours after the trip I went for a short walk (it was heavy snow in Tahoe), then sat down, then logged on to the internet to see if I’d disgraced myself with my posts (I hadn’t). Went for another short walk and sat down, then another short walk.
Next day I ate 40 thc of chocolate in the mistaken belief that I could take it, having survived more than twice that does. It wasn’t as bad but was too much and I was asleep soon afterwards.
20 is the dose I’d take now.
Although a very bad trip, I think it should be legal and regulated and there should be education about it. I wouldn’t drink a litre of vodka because I know about alcohol. Not knowing about cannabis led me to make a mistake, and legalising would teach me not to do so.
I would be back to the 20, and to a weak dose of magic mushrooms if I had one!

⏱ Does time scare you?

The thought of being old and decrepit, or of being made redundant at 60 and out of work until I retire with a pittance, does scare me.
However, I’ve been untroubled by ageing so far! I was miserable as a teen, unemployed for much of myearly 20s, unemployed and I’ll for most of my late 20s. At 29 I got treated for my illness, at 30 I went back to work and have never been out of work since, at 34 I started jogging and now I’m 37 and a powerhouse.
So I hope my future ageing is as good as the last 20 years of life getting better and better for me.
Also, I have slowly been going back to a full social life and doing the things I didn’t do in covid. The main thing I’m not doing is my tree planting in Scotland (we lived together in a house, so it’s incompatible with social distancing) and I miss it, but I look forward to its being back!

What’s your go to comfort food?

I like lots of food but to name one, I ate duck in plum sauce and egg fried rice from the Chinese takeaway, washed down with walkers nonsuch toffee, and it really hit the spot!

Does your bf like you to wear short skirts and dresses?

I’m a 37 year old straight man, not married but I have a girlfriend who is 42 and couldn’t give a shit what I wear, as long as it’s clean, which it is. I don’t like being asked questions by those who haven’t read my profile and wouldn’t care what the answer is, in the unlikely event you even see this.

Good evening to you, Els!
It was a great day for me. Caught up with my reading in the morning (Bittersweet by Susan Cain) and then went here.

Ate asparagus soup & new potatoes, the best of what our spring has to offer!
Now I’m working on my website, which is hard work but rewarding.
I haven’t yet made the post about today’s trip, but here’s the same place in summer 2018!

Here the hangman stops his cart
Now the best of friends must part.
Fare you well, for ill fare I:
Live, lads, and I will die.

‘Oh, at home had I but stayed
‘Prenticed to my father’s trade,
Had I stuck to plane and adze,
I had not been lost, my lads.

‘Then I might have built perhaps
Gallows-trees for other chaps,
Never dangled on my own,
Had I but left ill alone.

‘Now, you see, they hang me high,
And the people passing by
Stop to shake their fists and curse;
So ’tis come from ill to worse.

‘Here hang I, and right and left
Two poor fellows hang for theft:
All the same ’s the luck we prove,
Though the midmost hangs for love.

‘Comrades all, that stand and gaze,
Walk henceforth in other ways;
See my neck and save your own:
Comrades all, leave ill alone.

‘Make some day a decent end,
Shrewder fellows than your friend.
Fare you well, for ill fare I:
Live, lads, and I will die.’
