What is your favorite lunch cafeteria food?

I usually take sandwiches, peanut butter & rye bread today. But I have to say my favourite cafeteria style experience was the first time I went to SG to visit my brother who lives there. It was a revelation, all the teeming life, sights, smells & tastes of the far east but without any of the menace that you find in less fortunate countries.
Be it eating chicken rice or chai tow kway, you can't beat it and I'll hopefully be back next year!

What's the weather like where your at hot or cold?

Sadly there's been a lot of rain recently. It's like we had drought in the summer and we're on our way to floods now, without ever having a time when there was a good balance!?

I hope for dry weather in the mid-teens (that's celsius/centigrade) but who knows what's going to actually happen?

Hey, how are you doing? How has your week been so far?

CactusDoug’s Profile PhotoDoug
It's sadly consisted mainly of work, I'm on break now & then working more :(
The weekend offers more hope though as I'm taking my granddad to Prestatyn (visiting familiar places helps his dementia) in the course of which I'm going to visit Rhuddlan Castle and St Asaph Cathedral for the first time ever!
With this and the walking on the beach and in the hills it will ve a good time, will I get a chance to swim?

Would you rather go out for dinner or cook at home?

I'd cook at home fam, I've just cooked a lentil and chickpea soup to eat tomorrow with some bread.
I like going out every now and then but doing too often is too costly and I get tired at big social get-togethers, which are all right on special occasions but not something to be done every night.
Also I harvested some apples from a tree in my garden and found some blackberries on bushes and baked a crumble from them!

Where in Wales did you go?

I've been to a lot of places in Wales,
http://dry-valleys.tumblr.com/tagged/wales
Mainly in the north as it's nearest to where I live, though I did once go to Tenby.
There are, as you can see, dramatic coastlines, lakes and mountains but I'm looking forward to my trip next week to see St Asaph for the first time and to return to the gently wooded country around Holywell.

As well as a medieval well, there's an abandoned factory, so two traditional but now vanished ways of life are commemorated here.

What do you know of Asquith?

What I have got from the excellent biography by Roy Jenkins and from his own memoirs, both of which I can recommend.
In my opinion, if his Home Rule bill had passed, we could have avoided a lot of trouble and bad blood; the severance of Ireland from the United Kingdom wouldn't have happened and we would have had a federation a bit like the United Kingdom is today.

Imagine you’re a scary ghost but you’re restricted to haunting just one person for the rest of their life, after which you can pass on. Who would it be and why?

CactusDoug’s Profile PhotoDoug
I'd haunt Donald Trump until he agreed to sort out the environment!
I'd adapt the guise of people who've suffered from drought, floods, desertification & rising sea levels, it wouldn't be hard, especially since he has no real principles other than self-serving so he'd go along with my demands if it made his life easier.
I'd also mistreat an acoustic guitar & not stop badly singing until the job was done!

What do you do when you are bored at school/work?

When I've finished my work and have nothing to do I generally pretend to work, I'd like to browse the internet or talk to my friend but that's a bit too obvious when I sit near managers & supervisors!
I have evolved some excellent ways of looking busy if I say so myself, I only do this when there's no work on though, it isn't my fault if I get my tasks done ahead of time!

But unto us He saith; Behold, this is the fast which I have chosen, saith the Lord; loosen every band of wickedness, untie the tightened cords of forcible contracts, send away the broken ones released and tear in pieces every unjust bond. Epistle of Barnabas 3:3 Free space to post a pic ???

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

What matters to you most - money, good looks or attitude?

Got to be attitude, what will you do with your looks or money if you've got a bad attitude, and why would I want to be around such people?
What matters to you most money good looks or attitude

what’s one of your favorite quotes/verses from a holy text?

Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

"You can never replace anyone because everyone is made up of such beautiful specific details." .. What is your opinion on this quote? To what extent do you agree or disagree?

I agree, this is why everyone should be valued in their own right instead of being used as an object.

How will you spend the last summer day?

Sadly, working!
But here's a terrific poem from an author I've just discovered and look forward to getting to know better.
I myself enjoy harvesting blackberries & apples from trees & bushes, then baking with them, and of course this poem is partly about blackberries but mostly using them as a metaphor for all of life so I recommend you read it.

Are cats or dogs smarter?

"I am fond of pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals.” Winston Churchill.
I walk through a field of pigs on a morning walk I do each week, it's just the thing to clear my head before work. The pigs are cool! Here they are in the dawn in January 2016.
I have eaten some of the pork from here and you might think it would be hard to eat something I've seen, but isn't it better than eating something I haven't seen because it's lived in a cage?
