I was watching ‘Goodfellas’, which SEEMS to be a great film, but I’ve accidentally watched Part 2 fitst and am going to watch Part 1 tomorrow (had meant to do it the other way round but out the wrong dvd in and didn’t notice). So a way to reverse that would be nice!
Yes, I drink around 10 cups/glasses of water a day, some of them warm. When exercising, even more, washed down with lucozade. Why some people, especially the older, resist drinking water is baffling to me, as it'sa way of boosting your health that costs pennies and involved no work, but some people just don't do it?
Yes, if they contain racism, sexism, antisemitism, lynchings, rape and so on.I would advise to still read them though, to find what people thought at the time, because great art really can be made by bad people (Evelyn Waugh, Virginia Woolf) and because writing about those things doesn’t mean the auth agrees with them, just that they wrote about them.
The overpayments are obscene and when paid by blood money, even worse. This is why I never watch football on tv and don’t support a premier league team. I am Port Vale born & bred. Though I know I don’t do anything to oppose the monetisation & sportswashing, at least I don’t make it worse.
Certainly, though they are somewhat boring.I am having new guttering installed and have had the front of the house painted; this is because it was (foolishly) pebbledashed by the old owners so once the paint wears off the pebbledash is at risk of crumbling altogether and damaging the bricks. In this way, I will have a state of the art home; though I don’t especially need one for myself, it will add to the value of my house and thus add to my niece’s inheritance when I’m gone.
Evening Stephen,I haven’t actually begun reading yet! Though it is next on my list and, having enjoyed many of his other books, look forward to reading once time allows.
A bit boring thanks to rain, no football until august, & bike being in for repairs, but I’m at least going to get my wages on Tuesday and going to make some investments in my home next week, so my weekend is being used to rest before the efforts that lie ahead.
In ‘The Magnus Archives’ (not for the faint hearted but you seem like someone who’d like it) victims often turn to serving the dark powers, so that they can at least wield power; even if they’re horrified at what they do, it’s better than having such things done to them.Daisy: ‘I don’t want t-to b-be a s-sadistic predator again. I-I don’t want to hobble around like some – pathetic wounded prey either. I don’t know which would be worse. But I’m sc-scared now. That I won’t ever get the choice’.In a truly horrifying world like that, destroying one evil only leads another to fill the void it leaves and your only way out of being the prey is to become the predator, knowing all the while what you are.
What's the artist or band you're obsessed with right now?
