When songs and random things make you think of him/her and your heart beats faster and you imagine being with them on the beach, in a garden, etc. This might be a good or bad thing. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xR5xGHPUEew
(This would have been STAIF however I can't click on all of them ?). Anyway, so here's the question:
Have you ever been rescued by the emergency services? (Police, Fire Service, Ambulance Service, Coastguard/Air-Sea Rescue?) If so and you're comfortable sharing, tell us what happened ? - Doug
Sadly no, I haven't had a wild enough life! This is one of my photographers whose blog I followed (unfortunately he stopped blogging) showing dedication to his art, in the floods of 2016, in Dorset.
Do you think it's appropriate of parents to pull their kids' friends into helping with house and/or yard work whenever they visit? Would/do you do this with your kids? If so, would you pay the friends or consider their labor payment for your time/home/resources/etc.?
No, unless they spontaneously express an interest, I suppose a bit of coaxing might be ok but if you can't convince them that working is in fact fun then don't make them do it.No such thing has happened to me as I'm not married etc, I haven't considered it.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht-Eumyz0To
The other day I passed by a Red Cross volunteer who was trying to get people to sign up to donate blood because my country has critically low blood product levels this summer. Have you ever donated blood? If so, how often did/do you donate it? If not, do you think you might donate in the future?
It's one of those things I vaguely think about doing but haven't done yet.Crossing that barrier of squeamishness/reluctance would probably take something personal, such as myself or a loved one needing a transfusion (for instance I support thyroid charities because I have an underactive thyroid myself and neededhelp for that a d I remember the pain and the struggke of getting the right diagnosis).May I ask how you yourself responded to this call? As I say I haven't yet.
What's the last compliment you gave somebody?
I told a girl at work who had an especially good hairdo that day that she looked like Jaclyn Glenn.Thankfully it came out right :)
Today I chased up a hospital support service I'd emailed 7 days ago with a complex query regarding treatment. They claim to get back to you within 1-3 days. Their excuse for not doing so was that their autoreply thanking me for my email counts as their 1-3 day response. Does this seem legit to you?
No, it's totally unacceptable. It really shows their scorn for you, I'd never treat anyone that way, that must hurt at what is already a bad time.If I hadn't just taken my sleeping tablet I'd be furious.Have you read this blog, it may appeal. http://davidboyle.blogspot.co.uk
What's something that would be really out of character for you? Something that those who know you would be really surprised to see you doing, or hear about?
I've just discovered how to fit ipods in my parents' car and it means instead of listening to dodgy radio I can have a bit more time with my audiobooks, which they enjoy as well. Though"I've come up with a set of rules that describe our reactions to technologies: 1. Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works. 2. Anything that's invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it. 3. Anything invented after you're thirty-five is against the natural order of things.”Douglas Adams, the legend
Who in your life represents the following Archetypes:
The Great Mother (someone who nurtures, supports, teaches, organises)
The Trickster (someone with an unclear relationship, who helps and hinders, teaches indirect lessons, ?frenemy? )
The Devil (presents an obstacle, a challenge, an adversary).
"if I wrote a song like that, I wouldn't make you play it." Sterling Morrison to Lou ReedThanks for making me think about an interesting question, but I won't be answering it if that's ok with you :)
If you bottle up your emotions, does that make you a strong or a weak person? Why?
I don't know about strong or weak but i's not a good idea.Have a good cry, maybe get drunk (unless you're an alcholic), go for a non-erotic massage or something.A strong person acknowledges their feelings but tries to avoid getting too hung up on things. And some music https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9GkVhgIeGJQ
What was your first kiss like?
It was fantastic as it was also the occasion of my first sexual experience."So this is why everyone goes on about sex all the time" I thought :)https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sPGepgWupTw
Inspired by @FreckleFaceDimpleCheek 'a reply about skipping college (here: "skiving" / "twagging".) At college in the '80s I only twagged once, and ended up facing disciplinary action from my employer at the time when they found out?. Tell me about a time you skipped something you shouldn't have?
No, I'm not a convincing enough liar!On New Year's Eve 2003/4 my flight back from Prague was cancelled so I couldn't go to work. We had a fantastic night, the best of our holiday, but I wasn't skiving work intentionally and I was a bit worried about the repercussions at work.I was so nervous on the phone, and it's such an implausible thing (though it was genuine), they probably assumed I was skiving but didn't mind as half the workforce had come up with some cock and bull story!
"People in their late Middle Ages seem to vote for policies that are set in the Late Middle Ages".
Do you think there's some truth to this, or is it a sweeping generalisation?
This is interesting because people who vote Leave & UKIP/Tory (what's the difference nowadays) want to go back to the past but are actually voting for revolutionary change the architechts of which haven't bothered to plan ahead. http://stumblingandmumbling.typepad.com/stumbling_and_mumbling/2008/10/conservatives-for-revolution.htmlThis is even more true than ever since the referendum!People look for "strong and stable" but what they'll get is anyone's guess, as it hasn't been properly thought through.
