Why do some (all??) profiles have a flag and a number on them now? Has anyone else seen that? I don’t see one on my profile so idk if I have one but if so, what’s it say?
Isn't it that people have a flag of the country they're in, and a number that's an algorithm of how many answers given and likes received?
I know I can see by clicking on my number that I'm 13th in my country, which is a fairly lame claim to fame given that this website is hardly the hub of power-broking nationally, or anywhere!

What are your favorite nighttime activities? (Late night drives, bonfires, walks, etc.)
I don't really like nights fam, I wake up at 6am each day and I'm in bed at 10 or before as I get tired at night. I do like drinking but it gives me a hangover so I try to limit it.

What are some questions you ask a person when first meeting them, in order to get to know them?
I don't as a rule do this as I don't like people testing me and I don't want people to feel as if everything I say is a trap, as I do when talking with some people.

It's fairly doable if I change my diet and bring in new foods, so I've been to the health food shop and bought a load of polenta, which I hope can be put to various uses, both to replace fresh pasta (which of course isn't vegan), in baking, and other things.
Others include peanut butter, eggs, tinned tomatoes and flaked almonds.

Being serious, and admitting that the above is likely to stay fiction rather than fact, there are two charachters in Utz by Bruce Chatwin who form an odd but touching couple.
I won't name them as that would be a spoiler and I'd rather meep the surprise as they are a strange match but it's moving to see them together and the book is a fascinating exploration of life in communist Prague (my brother may be moving there, so it's an even more interesting topic than ever) and of all of life, so I recommend it.

I don't know, but I'm fascinated my the way mobile phones and wifi have permeated the workd, even among people who can barely feed themselves. This is because they immediately see that to arrange purchases of new storage units, find ways of managing such money as they have, microloans etc. Where there isn't a physical infrastructure of banks etc, folk are skipping several stages and going online.

How often do you get sent other people's @s? Do you usually answer them or delete them?
I don't do that but when I was on twitter I would often get mistagged and would be annoyed by people talking about the concerts I'd starred in, sports games I'd won, etc (I don't know who this famous person was whose name was similar to mine but they certainly got around).
The sort of person who mistags is the sort of person who puts little or no thought into their outspewings, so such posts were even more irksome than ever.
Thankfully it doesn't happen here though!

the weekend is really close whats your plans?
Going to Rode Hall market Saturday afternoon, doing nothing Saturday afternoon apart from watch that star is born film.
On Sunday (weather permitting) cycling in the morning, take my granddad for a run out in the afternoon & do nothing in the evening.

Whale, whale, whale.? Recently, a dead humpback whale was discovered in the Amazon rainforest. Fully grown, they're roughly 8m/26ft & 30,000kg/66,000lbs but this one was a calf. People have blamed aliens, rising sea levels etc. But what or who do you think is to blame for this peculiar incident??
