What's your dream job?

Planter of trees like I do at https://treesforlife.org.uk/volunteer/conservation-weeks/accommodation/athnamulloch-cottage/ but all the time!
The first group of people came here in 1991 to plant trees and the area was fenced off because otherwise, like most of the Highlands, it would be grazed to death by deer.
Look at both sides of the fence and think, if that was your job, what a difference you'd be making!
Sadly there are very few jobs in that field and they require a driving licence, which I don't have,
Whats your dream job

?? What’s the worst motel/hotel/hostel you’ve ever stayed in? ?? What made it so grim?

CactusDoug’s Profile PhotoDoug
A place in Manchester which I won't name, but where among the many horrors the worst was the sounds of rats and mice scurrying round. I thankfully didn't see it but I'm sure some creature crawled over my face in the small hours of the morning.
So much for the "entrepeneurs" that the government deify, I'm chains only from now on as even the cheap ones are at least clean.
Some hotels in Stoke (and I know elsewhere) have becone temporary accomodation for homeless people etc, and while most such people are perfectly decent folk who've fallen on hard times, they are prey to the minority of fuckers who sell druggs and attack people.
Tourists on their way to Alton Towers innocently stay there because it's cheap and realise later what a mistake they made. I think such places should be forcibly closed and more decent public housing offered.

Just did 3 truths and 1 lie on my page if anyone wants to go there and send me their guesses. With that said, let's turn the tables amd mix things up a little. What is 1 truth and 3 believable lies about you?

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
I don't know what believable lies would be about me, I haven't come up with any!
But it is true that I went to the same school as Robbie Williams, though many years apartband I've never met him.
The school often pointed to his example as one we could aspire to, but surely the message that you can fail all your GCSEs and become a millionaire anyway isn't one a school should teach?

I'm listening to Panic! At The Disco-I Write Sins Not Tragedies right now on YouTube and they didn't censor the word "wh*re" but they censored "goddamn". What's the most nonsensical censored word or censorship you've witnessed recently?

The supposed porn ban on tumblr has had laughable consequences as @shehitsback points out.
Even my own edgy, controversial posts
http://dry-valleys.tumblr.com/tagged/photos
One of them wasn't available as it supposedly breached guidelines, wtaf is that!?
I don't make or watch porn or even mind a great deal if a platform bans it, but can they not do so competently?

Recently Palitana was dubbed the world's first "vegetarian city" as the government there banned animal slaughter and prohibit the consumption of meat & eggs. If you lived there would you happily continue to or would you move elsewhere because of this? What's your opinion on it all?

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
I'd move elsewhere as I think it should be an individual choice, there can be vegetarian & vegan restaurants if people want them (which many do) but it shouldn't be mandatory.

Is it necessary to be a kind person in a violent world?

Yes, I believe it is.
If you do voluntary work, you will find that there are a lot of loving people who want to do something good, so if you have time then that's what I recommend that you seek out something to do in line with your interests
(For instance I volunteer at a local beauty spot, which is good as the area becomes polluted through so many people visiting it, but I hope our work improves the wildlife and the conditions for visitors. And all the people I work with are excellent, far better than the people in my employment job).
Thus you may not bring about a revolution overnight but you can be the change you want to see in the world.

?? Do you enjoy “making of” and “behind the scenes” documentaries about the fiction films/series you have watched? ?? If you get them as a DVD extra, do you watch them? ?? Do you instead prefer to just be left with the atmosphere the escapism has left you with?

CactusDoug’s Profile PhotoDoug
I always watch them as I'm a completist!
Whether I enjoy them or fund them useful depends, of course. The best I've seen is an interview with Michael Haneke about his film The White Ribbon; for films made by men f his calibre, or the Dardenne brothers, or Marty Scorsese, I want to know the background.
And I always read the reviews, but only after watching the film (not before, to avoid spoilers or prejudicing my viewing).

Would you rather have no internet or no cell phone?

I'd give up the interweb as I need to communicate with my friends & family, not all of whom are online. And in an emergency phone for an ambulance

If there were a book about your life, what the cover would look like?

It would be one of those red hardback books like the Readers Digest used to do, with gold edging on the pages just because.
Thus I would appear weighty and grave, but also elegant and distinguished, and hopefully no one would notice the contents :)
I would call myself Howard Bell after the Douglas Adams charachter.
"It's the first thing any publisher looks for in a new author. Not, `Is his stuff any good?' or, `Is his stuff any good once you get rid of all the adjectives?' but, `Is his last name nice and short and his first name just a bit longer?' You see? The `Bell' is done in huge silver letters, and the `Howard' fits neatly across the top in slightly narrower ones. Instant trade mark. It's publishing magic. Once
you've got a name like that then whether you can actually write or not is a minor matter"
Of course Douglas Adams looks the same on a cover and so does my real name, so I'm on my way!

What is the most popular sport in your country?

I think it's football but I hate football myself. My favourite sport is cycling and I look forward to watching the Tour de France again

Should we forgive our enemies? Why/why not?

Yes, haters fester in their hate and you'll be dragged down to their level if you join them, becoming the thing you hate.
If the Religious Right abided by this we'd all be better off.
"If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee."

What's your opinion on extradition? Do you support it or not? If you'd like to add why you do or don't, please do.

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
I haven't thought much about it but I support the extradition and punishment in Britain of Julian Assange for being a raping lowlife and general piece of shit
