In your location is there a regional (or perhaps dialect) curse/cuss word that gets used? Hereabouts we often call people who behave like d*cks or clowns “wazzocks”(sometimes spelt wassocks).

CactusDoug’s Profile PhotoDoug
Yes, wazzocks and wallies will get a tough time here as well.
A local exclamation is ‘Crimes of Paris!’ Or just ‘Crimes!’ which apparently isn’t heard anywhere else, and is a bit of a mystery!

Do you prefer writing in a black or blue pen?

avadroitII’s Profile PhotoAva Banana
Blue, it’s more fun!
I did have a problem when I needed to fill in a form to do with my works pension, but the pension company said it need to be printed and signed, then sent in the post, rather than sent online!
Because of their stubbornness, I will have to wait until February as I have no printer at home. Laughable!

What was cool when you were young but isn't cool now?

Razvan220699’s Profile PhotoRăzvan
When I was young, 'real' was the thing one should aspire to be, and 'keeping it real' was something to be aimed for.
Now, I hear the youth of today using 'unreal' as a compliment, so does that mean reality is no longer to be sought after? I'm fairly sure I was never cool/'real' in the 1990s, so does that make me unreal and therefore cool now?

Do you like to fall asleep to noises or you prefer it all quiet?🤔

ThatLatvianLass’s Profile Photo♡•FluffyPussy•♡
Silence for me! When I stayed at my brother’s house and slept on the floor, he would fall asleep to the tune of a radio and it did my head in. I have silence, darkness (not always, as the curtains that were sold to me as blackout curtains don’t fully work) and above all, no screens at night! If I can’t sleep I lie peacefully rather than get up one turn on a device because that is the worst thing one can do for sleep.

These shoutouts are delayed a lot, let me know what day you receive this? It’s sent on 3rd January

Jamie260’s Profile PhotoJamie T
I only received it today, 9 January.
I don’t really encourage shoutouts or mass asks as few of them are worthwhile and, when I answer, I often find that the asker doesn’t care anyway, which raises the question of why they’re talking to me in the first place!

How many languages can you speak?

eigerphantx’s Profile PhotoKim
Sadly, I only speak English!
I would like to speak French and (the language of heaven) Welsh. But have not learned a language beyond school stuff and what I’ve picked up from a subtitled film, which is almost nothing.

Will you be getting the covid vaccination when it's your turn, why/why not?

Yes, as soon as the people who need more than me have had theirs, I’ll be down to the clinic for mine!
I execrate the ‘sceptics’ and ‘dissenters’ and hope now their orange idol is fired and a loser, that their movement will die, so that humans can live!

11th video questions https://youtu.be/QlUC4eava3w

Yes, I agree.
It is human nature that we need to feel we have worked and made an effort to earn our reward, or we won’t enjoy it.
The problem with our economy is that useful things (caring for sick and old or young people, planting trees, cooking food) are either paid a pittance or not paid at all, whereas useless things (being a banker or a lawyer, or doing one of the Bullshit Jobs that David Graeber wrote about) are richly rewarded with money.

What was the last book that you read?

The Anarchy, by William Dalrymple!
The bizarre but true story of the East India Company, the world’s most powerful corporation ever.
This is fascinating; I haven’t been to India, but like all British people my life and times are still shaped by imperialism in India and elsewhere.
https://www.theguardian.com/books/2019/sep/11/anarchy-relentless-rise-east-india-company-william-darymple-review
Do have a read as it’s a fascinating subject and Dalrymple, who lives in India, is second to none as a scholar.

What turns you off during a conversation online?

avadroitII’s Profile PhotoAva Banana
For some reason, pornbots keep advertising to me, despite the fact that I’ve never shown the slightest interest in that sort of thing!
When talking to someone who isn’t a bot, being racist, sexist, homophobic or stupid will be enough to make me not like them.
