What's the last thing that delighted you?

Today I got on the bus and didn't have my ticket, so the driver let me stay until I found it. I didn't find it, so he excused me from paying altogether.
The driver must have known I'm not a liar/bullshitter as I must have an honest appearance, because of course I DO have a valid ticket, which I happen to have forgotten that day.
So I'm glad there is still trust in the world and feel buzzing like I've just got away with an evil scheme, although in fact I was being completely honest and if I had been charged more would have had to pay twice.

Controversial relationship topics: Do you think it's possible to have opposing political beliefs and yet have a healthy relationship with one another?

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
I don't think so, as there would either be endless arguments or they'd have to draw a veil over something both consider an important matter.
Better to have two people of similar views in a a relationship or, better, a person of strong views would be best off with an apolitical person to keep them grounded and in touch with where most people are, given that most people don't have strong views on anything and it can be hard for staunch activist and supporters of a cause to understand that the majority vaguely have views but don't know or care a great deal.

Recently I made some homemade air fresheners out of natural ingredients and recycled containers. Have you ever made anything at home out of recycled objects? If so, what was it? If not, is there anything you'd like to make?

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
I don't recycle stuff myself but I wear shoes made from recycled plastic that once littered the oceans!

Shane Dawson recently put a conspiracy theory out there about Chuck E Cheese pizza which drove everyone wild. What's the most unbelievable conspiracy theory you've ever heard? What's the most believable?

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
The most unbelievable are the usual shit involving lizards, 'Illuminati', Jews, etc and the theory of Obama being born in Kenya.
The most believable is all to believable and likely, which is that Russian bots and puppets are at work undermining Europe and America, and are keen to sponsor far-right parties and Brexshit in order to advance their goals in Eastern Europe and worldwide.
In fact you couldn't call it a theory at all given how deep Trump, Farrage, Arron Banks etc are enmeshed in dodgy Russian money. I think Putin was slightly taken aback by Trump winning as he could easily have pursued his goals with Clinton in office by weakening her through sponsoring the 'alt-right'/fascist movement, but it's all good from his point of view.
Anyone that thinks this is a good thing is a stupid tosser, because it's bad for democracy, for our security and won't even advance the goals of the people who allow themselves to be used as Russian puppets. Because the KGB will always call in their debts; they supported Trump but they could turn against him and sponsor anti-Trump movements if it achieves their goal of weakening the west, so they can never be relied on.

I'm probably going to take a break from sending out questions for a few days as I'm going to be super busy over the next few days-week so I'm sending out spam now. Use this to post anything you want.

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
I'll miss the questions as they are interesting (albeit I can't always think of an answer!) but I do hope you enjoy your break.
The first thing that came to mind when making a random post is I've just discovered my wife* was on TV and it sounds like an interesting programme to watch so I'll watch it when I'm at home.

Controversial relationship topics: When a couple move in together and one already has a pet, should the partner moving in take on the responsibility of caring for that pet?

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
Yes, and that's something the person who is moving in must consider before taking their action; otherwise they shouldn't do it as it isn't reasonable to expect someone to simply abandon their pets and a loving person wouldn't do so.
I exclude allergies from that judgment, but if it's simply a question of making the effort or not then they should
.

It's no secret that in recent years people have found fame by posting on Instagram, YouTube etc. What does it take for you to consider someone "famous"?

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
I don't know really, I might say someone is famous if most people at work have heard of them; this would make most of the people I like non-famous though?

Is there a song that you used to always hum along to or sing some of the lyrics to while you didn't know what it was about and then you found out and your whole opinion on it changed? What was it?

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
Not me but after Lou Reed died I had this exchange with my mum.
Mum: I didn't know that song was about heroin!
Me:Doesn't the reference to shooting a spike into his veins give it away?
Mum: I wasn't really listening to the lyrics though.
Me:The fact that it's called Heroin...
At this point it turned out there had been a misunderstanding, she was taking about Perfect Day and I was talking about this!

Do you believe in the phrase “Fake it until you make it”?

It depends on the context! If someone is very underconfident but something is within their ability, it would be good to build themselves up and then do it. That would be a good motto.
But I don't think it would be a good idea for me to pretend to be a qualified doctor or engineer and start doing the job i. the hope of getting the hang of it.

What small thing(s) can put you in a bad mood for the rest of the day?

CactusDoug’s Profile PhotoDoug
Buses & trains being late as it not only makes me late, but I do think shows what contempt our rulers have for us (especially that there aren't enough buses to meet the needs of a civilised country that respects people on low incomes).
It goes beyond the inconvenience that, for instance, bad wifi would cause and becomes a more general point.

If you're from Ireland or the UK, take this quiz to see if it can guess what region you're from based on your dialect and post your result! (Please just delete this if you're not Irish or British) https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/02/15/upshot/british-irish-dialect-quiz.html

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
That is fascinating and exactly right for me (was it for you?) as I can't post the findings here but it identified me as a clayhead, which I am :)

If anyone is interested in my local dialect this gives an indication

I don't (I dunna) use all the dialect words but I understand them as my granddad uses them and you'd need subtitles to understand what he says!

Your favorite chocolate bar?

I got into this when I was on a vegan diet for Lent, and haven't eaten milk chocolate since!

In the game Dungeons & Dragons, your Prime Requisite is your one strongest trait out of the following: Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom, Constitution, and Dexterity. Out of that list which do you think your own Prime Requisite would be?

CactusDoug’s Profile PhotoDoug
I'd say of those, I'm most short on dexterity (anyone who knows me would have a good laugh at that!) and what I could most use is some more constitution, which I sadly don't have much of and would like to build up, if this is what's meant by constitution.

I decided to answer this before looking it up as I wanted to make a spontaneous answer, and I'm now going to look up those terms as I'm not 100% sure what they mean.

When you last got takeaway food/food delivery, what did you get and if you hadn't gotten it, what was your dinner-at-home option?

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
On Saturday I had a subway, it was ok but I'd had a subway the week before and I would rather have eaten at Mission Burrito which is mine and my girlfriend's favourite place, but it's recently closed its Birmingham branch without explanation!?
The meal was thus a 6-inch italian bmt and a 6-inch meatball marinara, on oat bread, cheesed & toasted, followed by 2 oat & raisin biscuits (can't call them cookies, the same way I can't call flats 'apartments').
It's quite rare for me to dine out as I don't like to spend money in places like that and I'm mindful that my girlfriend has even less money than me so it's not a good idea to be eating luxury meals and what-have-you, though I'd go for an Italian meal if I could.

What was your favourite childhood toy and do they still sell it now? Pap of it?

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
Apparently (though I've been told this; I don't remember it) I had a monkey and was very staunch in support of the monkey's right to have a dummy. He had his own dummy and I would be angry if my parents gave me a dummy but not the monkey, as this was an injustice!
I don't remember this but I heard the story and like to think it was my first step in defending justice and the rights of others.
