To all my friends tired of all the Zombie shoutouts that Ask is resurrecting, I 'd just like to ask: How are you planning to celebrate the new millennium in 2000? 🤣
How do I deal with people who try to make fun of me and give me advice that I don't even need? Should I be rude with them or say things that would hurt them too?
A ‘fact’ I found hilarious was in the Sharpe books by Bernard Cornwell.Richard Sharpe, in the early books, was born and bred in London, but when the tv series was made starring Sean Bean was made, he was clearly from Yorkshire (where @CactusDoug lives) and it would have been laughable to say he was from London given his accent/dialect.So the later books were changed to have Sharpe kill a man (over a woman) when he was 11, then flee from London to Yorkshire to avoid justice. Can’t help laughing at such an unfeasible plot twist!?
We're cooking Jambalaya for the first time for Xmas dinner, and a lot of Creole recipes mention a group of ingredients called "the holy trinity" of Creole. We had to look that up- Do YOU know what the holy trinity of Creole cooking is? Hint, it's three veggies
Hope to get some cycling done!My parents think they might go to this place with their friends. https://www.hawkstoneparkfollies.co.uk/If they do, I’ll go with them and blog about it, as without a car and with too little daylight time for cycling I find it hard to get to places that are far from home in these times.
To all artists and writers, what was the last thing you did and what was it about?
Sadly, I have not written an entry for my photoblog since November, as I haven’t been to anywhere that I haven’t been to hundreds of times, and written about already!Due to covid, my planned holiday had to be called off but I did get a bit of work done as I did many of the things I was planning for the first day, just before lockdown2.http://dry-valleys.tumblr.com/tagged/lincolnshireI’ll be going there and other places next year!
The Last Kingdom tv series, based on the books by master storyteller Bernard Cornwell, whose books I’ve devoured since I was 12.Set in the real-life struggles between the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings, it’s a great adaptation that has had four series and is on its way to a fifth, hopefully soon!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxPApTGWwas
Thankfully I don’t follow celebs but the z-listers like Farage, Milo, Raheem Kassam and others who still haven’t found their dignity and continue to suck up to Trump and repeat his lies are unavoidable on Britblogs. I’m a bit embarrassed for them but I can’t pretend they don’t exist because they do.
Blue! When I buy my house/flat next year I hope to paint every room in a shade of blue. Sky blue, sea blue, neon blue, blue curaçao, you can do anything with it!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLxnAlZ63o8
Biggest one is ain’t nobody got time for that.Although I did laugh a lot, i later reflected that mocking a woc who has lost her home is a really bad idea!? After that did not use that meme and pointed out to those who did the problem with it.
In March I started working full time and after a few stumbles right at the beginning, I thrived! In July I started doing two days a week in the office and I accept that, as I can see enough of my friends and people who get on with, without seeing too much of those i dislike, so it’s a good balance.
I can read them, or almost can; I know what each individual number means as in VI or IX, but would struggle to read, for instance, 1763 in Roman numerals. It wouldn’t be too hard to pick up if I did it each day though!
What is the worst thing that can happen on a Monday morning?
Joint worst are hearing that a loved one is dead, or losing your home through an earthquake or a fire so you have no home and may be wounded.Second worst is going to work and being told that you’re fired.Being injured by a bus/car would be a bad business as well. Or being mugged.
