What’s something you’ve gotten into//started enjoying recently? I’ve been on a baking/cooking binge lately!

Working from home! And I thought I'd slack off, but didn't actually get the chance to do that as my work seems to be slower even if I don't browse the internet or do other things.
I am relieved at not having to commute into the office and see colleagues I dislike, and at the slashing of phone calls. And best of all, doing it all to the tune of music!

What I did didn't involve being on ask.fm evidently, sorry for teh delay :)
I was clapping along with about 10 other people from 4 households in the street. Most didn't do anything :(

It's casting a shadow certainly. We are working from home on Monday.
The literary festival I've attended since 2014, which was offering regeneration to the city in an area which had been devasted, and is held in a factory where manufacturing has bounced back amidst new houses and flats, has been cancelled.
Other areas have it much worse and I'd recommend this as an example.

One good thing is that Thatcherism/neoliberalism/'free markets'/austerity/'free trade deals' have been completely forgotten. We are all socialists now. There are no conservatives. I hope that proves to be the one good thing that has come out of it.

Best photo op: sunrises or sunsets?

I don't know what is 'best' but I have far more sunrises as to be honest, I'm scared of the dark but I fear dusk much more than dawn. I can go out at 6am in winter because I know the sun will be up soon, whereas I would be scared to go out at 6pm.
A sunrise in Ribchester, Lancashire, along the River Ribble is enclosed. I was really looking forward to walking here at Easter, as I hadn't been since October 2015, when the picture was taken. But I now fear the restrictions on travel will keep me at home. So I'll do it next year if not this year. Here, then, is your sunrise!

How many of you are temporarily out of work/school thanks to covid-19? How have you been handling it?

I'm still working, been having meetings about possibly working from home. Thankfully still got a job, as this time reveals how bogus the record highs of unemployment really are, with millions running businesses that barely break even, or on zero-hours contracts for employers that would cut them loose and not notice, let alone care.
My holiday plans have taken a dent and I'm having to adapt to this new thing (I think if I worked from home I could be almost as productive in the office but it would waste time for the IT department and managers) so I'm definitely feeling it, even though I'm fairly sure I won't contract it. The mood is a bit bleak if I'm honest. :(

My 30th, which is usually seen as a negative & depressing time in the culture, was actually my best birthday!
BecauseI had had hypothyroidism, and got treated and started recovering a few days before my 30th birthday, I felt as though I was getting younger each day rather than older!
Later I realised that life is still depressing even if you’re healthy, but the time around my 30th was a heady time.

I've been trying to avoid panic as I think that is likely to do more damage than the coronavirus, and it's shaded with traditional yellow peril racism, bullying of ethnic Chinese children (who obviously have nothing to do with coronavirus) in schools, etc.
I don't know what will happen though. The first British case of a person having coronavirus without going abroad has been reported (he had met someone who had been to Italy) so it's clearly here, but panic is far more likely to adversely affect your life than the small chance of getting the illness.

3. Last dream I remember, I dreamed I was at work and one colleague went up to me and told me how much he hates the person who sits next to him, and was going to punch that person if it carried on.
Next day, I tiptoed round the person I'd dreamed about, terrified of the rage meltdown he would have against the person he'd expressed such hate for, until I gradually realised it was a dream.

To watch my brother and uncle take part in an event called the Vitality Half Marathon.
They start at Tower Bridge and progress via a long route to Cutty Sark, Greenwich. As it's a 6-mile walk I plan to walk and take in the London scenery on the Thames Path and get there slightly before them. Then go to the Cutty Sark and hopefully the museums, which are renowned in that part of London (my girlfriend's cousin lives there).
After that will eat at a market, then drop my brother off at his home in Bedford (where we spend Satuday night, some at his house but me in a hotel because there isn't space for us all) then go home.
Not a lot of relaxing!

Do you know how to use chopsticks? If so, what’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten with them? I just tried using them for Cheetos lol

I don't have a bloody clue how to use chopsticks! It's a fine art but one I have no idea about, I'd urge using reusable chopsticks, and if you can do it then kncok yourself out, as long as you don't expect me to join in.
I almost ate chai tow kway with chopsticks once. but had to give in and ask for a spoon.

How do you feel about the coronavirus?

I support all efforts to treat and cure the disease.
I do not support hysteria such as the incident where three of my work colleagues had to leave early because their children were sent home, days after a school trip to the red zone.
If they were going to pass on the infection they'd have done so already, but I very much doubt any of them will. With ethnically Chinese children being bullied in schools, it's time to damp down the hysteria and make a level-headed response that actually sorts out the issue.

What were the political achievements of Herbert Henry Asquith?

The first old age pensions, health insurance, and (while mindless obstruction from right-wing 'patriots' prevented it from happening), he had the right ideas for a just peace in Ireland, which if they'd been implemented would have spared poitless suffering and death that was to scar Ireland in the decades that followed.
There's no doubt that he was a first-class intellect, as you can see from reading the biography by Roy Jenkins.
