Hey regarding the 8 string with gold pickup cover question, I discovered that EMG has a few new models. Just search something like 8 String Pickup Gold on eBay, can't remember the exact names. (you might not like EMGs that much but, the more you know haha).
Ah you're right! They do have gold covers on their MetalWorks series, I forgot.

That's not an easy answer :) practice as much as you can, focus on a clean execution, and listen to as many guitar albums as you can to get inspiration! Try to "internalize" what you like and make it yours

What top and headstock finish (apart from natural maple) goes with a maple fretboard? Any other color or wood looks kind of weird to me :/ I think you actually got the best wood combo on your old DC800
I actually think despite how good my dc800 was, the overall look was getting boring pretty fast. Maple goes perfectly with a lot of finishes but blue is a safe choice :)

Flamed koa is very hit and miss, I'd discard it. However, you can specifically ask for an over the top spalted top and they will definitely deliver it!

I feel weird asking, but how much does a carvin 8 like your previous one cost approximately if you custom order it? I see used ones for $1000 to $1500 but I think they're more than that?
