What's the best affordable 2x12 you have ever used? Like recording/plain playing since I want to use a 2x12 instead of a 4x12.

I can't recommend Hesu enough, their 2x12 I own sounds so balanced and tight.

ohhhh my little italian sausage how is life?

could be better, just lost my grandma these days and I'm not feeling that well. Thanks anyway!

Did you went to music classes or did you practice a lot at home?

For the first months I took some private lessons on classical and electric, which has been crucial for me to avoid bad habits since the beginning. Then I preferred to continue by myself, not because I didn't need lessons anymore but time and money weren't enough. Then returned years later to work on lead techniques and theory, since all I did by myself was just riffin' all day long :)

Hi, I have a problem with the sweep picking. well, my left hand can sweep without any problem and with a good speed, but the right one is the problem, I can't do the sweeping technic with it (P.S: I play while my fingers are on the body of the guitar). Please help me. Thanks.

Sorry to be redundant, but read FAQ #2.

What parts of a guitar do you think people talk about way too much compared to how much it actually affects the sound/feel? What isn't talked about enough?

While they do make a difference, I personally think there's way too much talk about pickups (the amount of questions I receive about the subject proves it). Scale length is an equally important factor, people often don't realize how much it affects not only the low strings, but the higher ones (negatively imho) as well.
Neck thru vs bolt-on is another huge difference: one might think "oh I have a mahogany body it must be warm so I'll put a bright pickup on it", but what if it's maple neck thru? In this case neck is a much more important factor and actually is the wood on which pickups, strings and bridge rest.
Overall the most overlooked factor is definitely the cab and relative mic placement. Cabinet is the last piece of the chain and can make it sound godly or ruin it completely.

Do you think stainless steel frets are better than standard nickel frets? I've read that stainless steel frets hardly wear but they you have to replace strings quite frequently as the go bad very quickly, is this true?

I do think stainless frets are much better than regular ones. Sooooo smooth during bends/vibratos and so durable! Haven't experienced shorter life on my strings but I usually go with Elixirs which last very long anyways, so I don't have that issue.

What's your opinion of more recent Ibanez JEMs (77V, 7VWH, etc.) in comparison to other guitars in the same price range?

I've always liked the Jem model and the last ones are definitely good, I liked both the 6 string and 7 string version, although imho the early 90s ones are still unbeatable.

What does it feel like starting to play guitar with average skills to working your way up of having your own signature guitar and sounding amazing?

Feels like a lot of work in between the two haha :) I don't have a signature guitar and I don't feel like deserving one at moment, but regarding your question: it doesn't happen from one day to the next, you just have to keep doing it, and keep doing it, and see the goal in your head.

Why do people hate on Schecter necks?

Schecter necks used to be huge, since the SLS series they're no more.

Have you ever played a Washburn made Strandberg? If so what were your thoughts?

I did, very solid guitars indeed.

When is your album due?

We've been striving for so many months to gain enough money for the album mixing/mastering and the official video, and finally we're able to pay for it. Video is scheduled mid-may, we're currently planning the "plot" for it :) excitebike!

Have you ever tried n above 1000$ guitar andfelt it was terrible ? you don't have to name the brand !

maybe not terrible, but disappointing for sure

Have you ever tried a Laney IRT-Studio ? if yes what did you think of it ?

Never tried, but I'm sure it's a solid machine. Although I'm just so used to my Axe Fx that I don't see myself using anything else for the foreseeable future

Appreciate you answering over 3000 questions. It was well under 1000 when I first asked something! :)

Doesn't take me much time at all actually, the higher amount of questions is just because I started using ask.fm earlier than others. I'm glad you enjoy them :)

If you have time, can you watch a couple of minutes of Tosin's new video? Do you think his technique has improved significantly? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tej5w_LZqrg

He was already a beast on the first album and has gotten even better with time. Maybe not significantly better, but he's refined and improved his game for sure

How often do you go on reddit?

I've actually never visited this website, just know that people answer questions on it sometimes. Missing out big time?

I've been away from the guitar world for a while, has Bare Knuckle made covered 8 string sets yet?

not yet

What do you think of the Ibanez TAM10?

Not particularily attractive to me, it's on par with the rest of Premium guitars.

Hi francesco! i'm looking for a new pickup set for my ibanez-rg827(maple top, basswood body).Mainly for rock, metal(DT, periphery sometimes)..but i also love a rich and creamy clean/crunch sound. I like the classic dimarzio crunch lab/liquifire set..other suggestions?Thank you! Greetings from Udine;)

Hey Fra! Do you think that a satin finished deep triple step purple burst from Carvin will capture the grain of a quilted maple top in the same way that a glossy finish would? I've always wondered if a gloss finish made the grain pop more or if it just preserved the wood better.

I like both, it's just different. Check the "pics of the day" photo albums on Carvin's Facebook to get the difference more.
