What did you study? do you have a degree or something?

went to college of Science then pursued Architecture university, after that I studied graphic design and did a master in Type design. All of this to become a guitar teacher, isn't it beautiful haha :) I still work as a graphic designer but music tuition is my main income now.

I always hated emg pickups but what is your opinion on the new 57/66 set ? a lot of players seem to appreciate them...if you had to compare them to a bare knuckle set which one would it be ?

I still prefer BKPs but I admit this set sounds pretty glorious. It's always hard to compare pickups from different brands because they WILL be different, even if I choose theoretically similar ones. It's something I get asked a lot and imho it's bit of a nonsense.
Anyway I'd say the bridge is close to a Holy Diver/Alnico Nailbomb blend and the neck is similar to VH2 with a bit more output. I still prefer the BKP counterparts though, just the fact they don't need batteries is a big plus imho.

I have a PRS Mikael Akerfeldt SE, and I use it in drop B/Drop C. I play a lot of stuff similar to Veil of Maya and periphery (although I wouldn't say I necessarily GO for sounding like them). I aim for a similar tone of Marc Okubo, I like that quick and tight bass response and clarity is king! Must

How do you know that much about pups and their sound/tone from different woods and playing styles?

First hand experience, there's no substitute for that :)

I have an RG7321, I play progressive metal/mathcore and I look for a tight sound, lots of mids and tight in the bass, not overbearing highs, singing leads, but most of all versatility. I like ethereal sounding cleans and sometimes jazzy cleans. I like the sort of djenty tone but I don't really djent

Finally someone who reads the FAQ before asking :) I definitely recommend either Painkiller or Aftermath in the bridge, and Cold Sweat in the neck.

Hi francesco! I'm awaiting a strandberg made to measure 6 with standard 25.5" scale, mahog body with quilt maple top, rosewood neck and ebony fretboard. I play mostly shred, metal, blues and cleans like your carvin video, but would love all round versatility. Which bkp wud you recommend?

I'd say alnico Nailbomb bridge and VH2 neck, can't go wrong for versatility and power :)

Ciao Francesco!

Do you like Leprous?

yes I adore Leprous!!! now THIS is Prog, not the riff-salads that pop up on my wall every now and then. Superb music!

Hey on the topic of the macbook, what specs do you recommend? I don't know much about computer stuff so is there any advice on what to look for?

ayy lmao
Macbooks are not like PCs, it's not that you can choose million specs or stuff like that :) they're just built with certain specs and you can change little of them. Any model with enough RAM from 2011 until now should serve you properly in any field.

Hey I'm looking for a decently priced computer (preferably a laptop) that can get me started recording at home, mixing, and all that good stuff. I cannot buy anything too expensive like a macbook. Really just looking for something to get me started recording as well as your average internet browsing

I may be biased, but can't speak enough of how easier my work became since I acquired a Macbook, it is imho super intuitive and works just perfectly for what you're after.
Find a used one or save more!

Which artist/band is your guilty pleasure?

I'm not a fan of the term "guilty pleasure" - should you feel guilty about music you genuinely like to listen? :)
That being said I like a lot of mainstream artists: Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Beyoncè, Robbie Williams, tons really. Mainly I'm into female singers like Adele, Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Banks and others.

What would be your neck pickup of choice in a Mahogany body Cocobolo neck bolt-on 7 string, for high gain leads? Thanks

A lot of stuff would work, VH2 and Cold Sweat would be safe choices though

How would you rate and describe the BKP Emerald neck for high gain metal and rock lead playing? I've seen your clean demo and it was fantastic for that stuff and so is your technique! Cheers.

Bright, crunchy, with lots of classic rock vibe and somewhat of a stratty tone.

Hey Fran I'm in sort of in a bind and am seeking your help. I am auditioning for Berklee at a satellite site and have been told that the only amp they have is a fender jazz chorus. For my audition piece I need a modern progressive metal rhythm and lead tone ala Periphery/Polyphia/Intervals. Thanks

Ask them if you can bring your amp?
