Hey man, would you mind doing a video abusing your EBMM Tremolo? I'm looking for a trem that allows me to do tricks like Vai, Satch, Dime, but without the FR hassle. Show me how much abuse it takes to get it out of tune and also the pull up/dive range. Also, are their necks similar to Ibbys? Thanks!

I think Khaler, Ibanez Edge/LoPro Edge/OFR are your only options. I don't know of others that handle divebomb stuff that good without going completely out of tune.

How did that bubinga kxk compare to your blue 7dc?

both were incredible but tonally very different. The bubinga one being brighter and more compressed, the blue being balanced, "airy" with lots of mids.

something for leads(neck pickup) like a Liquifire/air norton but with a lot of clarity, but with a less fatter clean tone ? hope you see what I mean :)

Cold Sweat :)

just one more question...what is the main difference between neoclassical and oriental licks? it may sound like a silly question but sometimes i cant tell the difference when i play and if you could do me a favor of playing a lick in style of any of the mentioned bands...tnx ahead you are the best!

Lots of "oriental" licks can be played within neoclassic music, but what defines an "exotic" scale/mode goes beyond the ones often used in neoclassic stuff. Harmonic Minor/Phrygian Dominant/Diminished are often associated with neoclassic, but there are many more scales/modes that can be called exotic. It always depends on context of course

what is your opinion on bands Seventh Wonder,Myrath,Evergrey and Pain of Salvation? if you have one ofcourse :)

I adore classic Progressive Metal, and all the bands you mentioned are/were absolutely phenomenal.

Hi Fra, what are the main differences between 7 strings Carvin? I don't mean technical and construction differences, but the ones in feel, sound and playability. Or anything else that only someone who have played them could know. Thank you :D

They're all of the same quality. I find their necks to be similar, the DC700 is a hair more comfortable since it has an extended bevel, but on the other hand I love the rounded edge option on DC727/747. The DC models are neck thru and that's the major difference compared to the CT7 model, which is set-neck and also thicker body/top. In the end, specs will make lots more difference than the model itself compared to others :)

Do you think that Nicholas Llerandi had the best entry in the Mayones contest?

Better or worse is subjective, he had the most unique entry and that's what made him stand above the others to win.

hey mate, I want to record a DRY Guitar signal, while I monitor through axe fx but i dont use axe fx as sound interface. I use RME UC and still want dry signal. I know If I use Axe Fx as soundcard it's easier but I need to use RME at the same time I want dry signal. Thanks.

You can do it in several ways:
1) buy a DI box (I use a Countryman Type 10) so that you can split the signal, the main output will go into the RME interface and the thru output will go into the Axe Fx. Then of course from Axe Fx you can plug into the RME to another input/s, so you can record both dry and processed signals.
2) this other is probably the closest in quality to using Axe 2 as an interface: regardless of your preset chain, leave the first block "shunt" then connect it to an FX LOOP block to another row. Basically all the chain remains intact, but you have the loop block before everything, in parallel and not interfering with the others in series. This way you actually activate output 2 which in this case will be a dry signal, since you've put the FX loop block before everything else. You can then connect OUT1 jacks/xlrs to some inputs and OUT2 jacks to other inputs of your RME interface, one will be dry the other will be wet.
3) there is actually a way of keeping it all digital without going the USB route, and that is using SPDIF ins-outs between the Axe and RME interface. since it provides a stereo signal, you'll have to route your Axe chain so that only the left portion gets processed and the right one remains clean. Then within TotalMix you'll have to split the SPDIF input in two mono inputs rather than a stereo one. This one is for sure more tricky to achieve and I suggest you to not do it unless you know your stuff :)
Try #2, I get very similar results with Axe 2 usb with it, and none of the hassle. Although if I want a better DI quality for official recordings I use #1.

we want some new teaser of abio c'mon!

No more teasers for now, next is a full track. If we keep working on video teasers it removes time from the album and actual songs, which are way more important obviously. We still have a couple surprises in the middle though :)

band before ABIO? tell us your story ;)?

I played in a Death Metal band but never wrote or recorded anything with them, just played lots of gigs. We played with Decapitated, Suffocation, Nile, Fleshgod, Destruction, Benighted and lots of others, good times for sure but my head was already on Abio :)

Do u still have your first guitar?

Yes I still have my first classic somewhere in my basement, with like 13yo strings, some of them missing, lots of tacky stickers around...I should rescue it :)

What was your gear in your formative years?

I started with a cheap 50€ classic guitar, then after some months I bought a Squier strat and Peavey Bandit mini-amp, sounded terrible but I felt like a king haha. After a while I added a Zoom GFX-8 and it was even worse, I scooped out everything and couldn't care less :D
Then replaced the Squier with an awful B.C. Rich Warlock bronze series, at the time I was very into Slipknot and the guitar shop nearby had one so... Still remember how many strings I broke on that guitar, that bridge was the worst thing ever.
Then finally bought my first serious guitar, a Jackson DK2S. Also got myself an old Line6 2x12 combo that was a bit better, and after that bought a Charvel San Dimas and finally a Schecter Loomis, my first 7 :) from there it was a loooooong list of purchases, pickup changes, selling & trading stuff, etc.
I joined a band in 2009 and my 2x12 combo wasn't enough to do gigs and rehearsals so I saved some cash to buy me a Rivera Knucklehead Tre, absolutely LOVE that amp. Originally had a Rivera cab too but then sold it to buy two Vader cabinets, also added a Maxon 820, ISP Decimator and TC Electronics Nova System. That was my setup for all the gigging & touring etc.
Then left the band to focus on Abio, sold all the stuff and bought an Ultra, was using it along with various power amps and a Vader 2x12, then shifted to Mackie HD1221. Then came the Axe II, and that's what I'm using atm :)
As far as recording stuff, I still have my very first recording attempt somewhere: line-out of my Line6 combo into a Sound Blaster audio interface, using Cool Edit Pro. Hilarious lol :D

BKP Question! I want to get a really nice transparent Tom Quayle fusiony tone. What pickups do you recommend? Single coils or something like the blackhawk with a coil tap?

Tom Wayle's tone is in his hands...that being said Blackhawks would indeed be good, balanced cleans with more than enough output and character to shine on legato stuff.

Hello I have a pickup question, I am in possesion of a Ibanez RG420 and hate the SD Blackouts and want to put Bareknuckle pups, Mahogany Body, maple neck and rosewood fretboard and has the edge 2 trem I believe, I am starting to get into playing stuff like Veil of Maya and Slipknot.

for Veil Of Maya tone Aftermath is the one. Both Slipknot and VoM have used Blackouts at some point but I wouldn't associate either band with those pickups, which I'm personally not a fan of.

Ciao francesco, ho un problema grave. Spesso non riesco a capire quando e perché una cosa è fuoritempo o se sto andando a tempo o meno. Come posso capirlo? Grazie mille e scusami :(

Dai polacchi solo garanzia :)
