do you like classic progg rock like king crimson and yes?

Yes, but I admit prog rock is my biggest "blank", I need to start listening to KC, Yes, Kansas, Rush etc.

How often do you change strings on your 8 string? Do you change them all at once or keep the low string a bit longer?

I change them all at once when I need to!

can you play piano at all?

I took lessons for some months when I was 8yo and cannot remember anything :) Although I'd love to.

What are your favorite and least favorite trem systems?

By far original Edge and Lo Pro Edge tremolos. Nothing beats them :) OFR is also excellent.
Least favourites? I once had a Jackson licensed Floyd...ugh, kinda awful.

What are the pros and cons of an agile interceptor 8 string? What mods would you recommend for one? Pickups?

Pros: good for the price
Cons: huge necks, and don't expect miracles since it's an "ok" guitar
I had an Intrepid 8 and it sounded fantastic with a Lundgren M8 in the bridge but was really difficult to play with such a huge neck.

What's your favorite 6 string stoptail bridge?

You mean hardtail? If yes, Schaller Hannes and Hipshot are my favourites. Also any Hipshot-like fixed bridge with Graphtec saddles can sound just as good.

do you think that a cbomb bridge will match with a cold sweat? i got an ibanez rg927 tune to A

Yes definitely

Per registrare è meglio un mac o un pc normale?

nessuno è meglio dell'altro per registrare, usa ciò che più ti aggrada :)

What do you think is the best BKP to go in the neck position of an Ibanez RG? I'm looking for something with a really warm sustained lead tone. Thanks.

Depends on taste, "warm sustained lead" could be anything really, even a Warpig neck (which rules btw).

So I'm curious, what kind of a guitar do you think a painkiller excels best in? Or better yet, what styles of music does it really excel in? It says it is the ultimate "djent" pickup but I'm curious as to what else it can do.

Painkiller wasn't build to be the ultimate "djent" pickup, but with time many people have started using it for that purpose and I agree it excels at it. It basically sounds like a very pissed off Marshall with these roary prominent mids, but within a pickup :) Compared to the Aftermath, it's more raw and less polished, super gnarly and aggressive, still very very tight.
I think the perfect guitar for the PK is a Les Paul, as it generally works best on all mahogany guitars.

Does pickups really make a difference?

otherwise there wouldn't be so many different models around, whatcha think :)

What BKPs do you recommend to shred in the style of Jakub Zytecki or David Maxim Micic? Guitar is an Ibanez RG920 or RG2127z tuned to standard with only the lowest string dropped.

You know pickups can't give you shred skills right? :) That being said, I think Cold Sweat and VH2 neck would both excel at it. Aftermath in the bridge would be a safe bet, Cold Sweat bridge would be very good too in these guitars.

Will you do in the near future a video that could be titled "Ultimate Francesco Filigoi's Guitar Collection", where you show all your guitars and make a quick demo with all of them ?

I could in the future do a video of my little studio (guitars included) but even if I post a lot of guitar pics, I actually don't like to "show off" and tell "I own this I own that" just for the sake of it.

thanks :) and yeah haha "musical" pickups for the win! what would you recommend for a powered wedge for the axe fx 2? thanks again

Definitely Mackie HD1221, that thing sounds monstrous!

Holy Diver or Black Dog in the bridge for a JPX? Thanks

Both would rule but Black Dog even more in the JPX. Btw, finally someone that asks about more "musical" pickups rather than the usual suspects :)

What are the all around best guitars you've ever played (aside from BM) ? Is it the Vik duality?

I'd say all the Viks I've tried at this year's Musikmesse :)

What do you do with your friends in your spare time, specifically the ones that aren't into guitar?

go out and enjoy life I guess :)

I should probably tell you the guitar as well,it is a carvin Holdsworth fatboy (the headstock one) yeah mahogany neckthrough/maple board. I never heard of the rebel yell, all I hear are AFTERMATH THIS etc. If you could describe the rebel yell, how would you? I am sold on the VH2, it sounds amazing:)

Aftermath is a very aggressive in your face pickup but in my opinion not the best choice when you're searching for aggressive AND versatile. Rebel Yell is the tightest alnico pickup I've ever heard, it's kinda like an alnico Painkiller so it's richer but at the time very pissed off. It's born as a Rock/Hard Rock pickup but it excels at everything: hear the first Red Seas Fire EP for example :)
