I'm 17 years old and I've been playing guitar seriously for about 8 months. I have a feeling that I got into technical playing too quickly and now I have trouble composing new music, especially in standard tunings. Any suggestions?

Go back to the basic exercises, classic songs to learn regardless of genre, spend years on getting your rhythm, groove and sense of melody to a mature level. Only then I would think about "technical" music personally.
I don't know your current level but it's safe to say after 8 months one shouldn't bother about playing technical. Don't skip steps :)

Hi Francesco! Any Italian-make guitars/luthiers you've tried and would recommend? I was somehow thrown off when I recently found out that Italia Guitars were English designs manufactured in Korea, what do you know. Some of its classic designs are very eye-catching. All the best!

Manne and GNG are the best ones, truly excellent guitars!

Dude I aspire to release an album(1,5 or 2 years from now), I like shredding stuff, but I always fear not being good enough, these days it's almost impossible to impress somebody with technical stuff, do you think that if i do something really melodical with that shred touch will I impress somebody?

Music is not a competition, you shouldn't write music to impress somebody else, but to please your ears first.
Write and play what sounds good to you regardless of your current level, and by all means strive to deliver a message throughout your music, something that is worth listening to regardless of genre, musicianship, moods etc.
Shredding is cool and I love it, but I am more impressed by good notes rather than many notes :)

hi! i was thinkin'... i've listened to plini's and harnett lastest's ep.. why don't you give us your Ep? but first.. we want some abio trailers ;) bye

I've always written music with vocals in mind, that's why there's Abiogenesis as a full band, and not a one-man project. Our singer will release a brutal-as-fuck cover next week so you can have a taste of our vocals too :)
Also, call me old fashioned but I've always believed a full length album is a much stronger statement than an EP. We could have released an EP much time ago but I wanted to write more music to get to album-length. I can't wait for you to listen to our work!

if you have to take a "classic" guitar (gibson fender ecc.)... which one do you choose?

Why choose? :) when you find a right specimen of each brand, they deliver tone-heaven. Although very different, I love both equally.

hi francesco! who is your best italian guitar player? like sfogli rojatti castellano ferro braido ecc. ecc ?

Italy has a very strong guitar virtuoso tradition, I'm convinced we have the very best players here.
Just think about surnames like Vai, Satriani, Gambale, Petrucci, Di Meola, Romeo, Impellitteri, Saraceno...it's in the blood :)
Talking about "pure" italians, there's plenty of absurd players: Gianni Rojatti, Marco Cardona, Alessandro Cossu and Raffaello Indri have all been my teachers, and all mind blowingly awesome.
Apart from them: Claudio Pietronik, Ignazio Di Salvo, Davide Montorsi, Vanny Tonon, Gianluca Ferro, Giacomo Castellano, Fabrizio Leo, Gabriele Lazzerini, Rocco Pezzin, Michele Vioni, Donato Begotti, Nicola Ancillotti, Pietro Quilichini and of course Marco Sfogli.
I'm sure I'm forgetting lots of them but basically Italy = excellence in guitar, and I'm proud of that :)

Weird question but your english is very good for someone whose second language is english. how would you recommend someone else whos second language is english to improve? Thanks

Thanks! Watch as many english spoken movies as you can, possibly with english subtitles too. Read a lot of news/articles, even books. Internet and videogames help a lot too :) My foundation came from school though, always had good english teachers.

Did you do a guest solo on Matt's album? Its not listed

I was going to but had very limited time and couldn't make it, Jakub took my place and did an excellent job :)

When people enter guitar solo contests, how do they know what notes work and what doesn't? If you have a poor ear are you pretty much discouraged from entering?

Notes work if they sound good with the backing track, notes don't work if the ending result clashes and produces something not as pleasing, pretty self explanatory I think. You actually CAN play "wrong" notes but the landing ones should always be in key. Regardless of good or bad ear, give it a try you never know!

Just for fun, what do you think a jugg in the bridge and a Blackhawk in the neck would sound like? Weird I know.

Both would sound pretty good but not exactly a couple I would pair.

I need to write a solo. I've tried everything, from humming a melody to playing the scale in different patterns and using the chords notes, but nothing memorable comes out. I just had a three weeks break to "rest my ears" but it doesn't seem to have led me to any solution. Should i just keep trying?

Keep note of the melodies you come up with and then relisten to them, one of them might suit the backing track just fine! It takes a lot for me too, to write a solo I'm satisfied with.

When musicians record in video their execution from different views, do they make different takes or there's a device to shot two videos at the same time?

It depends if you have just one camera or more :) In my Mayones contest solo we did multiple takes since we just had my camera. For our drummer's covers we borrowed some cameras to record everything in one take, otherwise he would have ended up exhausted given the amount of tracks to be recorded in one day.

Blackstar Ht-dist pedal into presonus 22vls with redwirez impulses??? Do you think that would be posible to achieve a good sound for an album? or pod hd pro? which is better, I don't have money for tubes amps or axe 2

Pod hd pro would be better

its nice to see that not every good player is just into djent and core music, love death metal <3

I like a lot of stuff but Death Metal will always be my first love

I loved Surgical Steel, its the perfect blend between necroticism and heartwork but with a good quality recording e.e but what do you think about it?

Album of the year

what is your opinion about bill steer's technique

Best fuckin rhythm player in Metal along with Dave Davidson, Terrance Hobbs and Vogg. Totally rippin, probably my biggest influence on rhythm guitar.
