While playing I like to let my pinky (of my right hand) on the body of the guitar, but I noticed that all the professional guitarists don't do it. so. is it wrong ? should I stop doing it ? Thanks.

Some people do it, some don't. Plenty of excellent guitarists that rest their fingers on the body, one above all Emil Werstler. I personally don't do it, I tried it but couldn't move properly.
As long as your right hand has a good tone and does a good job in muting the unwanted notes, all good.

What was wrong with your alt picking if I may ask?

Take a lesson and I'll show you :P I think it is a fundamental aspect that is almost never brought into discussion, it's rare to find someone talking about it on the internet. It completely changed my speed/accuracy!

What's a common problem or weakness you notice when it comes to musicians DIY recording?

For sure wanting to "sound like". It has no sense to me, an emulation will always be different and "inferior" to the original. Also there are WAY more aspects involved in how something sounds like it does. It's like if you were landing on the Moon....that's super cool! But someone already did it :)
Regarding mixing instead, definitely not having a clue of what compression is and how it works, and striving to have a good sounding mix without actually adding bass.

This question may seem a little dumb but i'll ask anyways. I'm starting to do guitar covers, but everytime whenever i'm recording i always tend to screw up.. Did you face this problem when you first started filming yourself playing?

Sure, I screw up all the time and nobody's perfect :) just redo it until it's fine!

Do you listen to any classical guitarists? Coming from Italy you must be surroundd by some great lesser known ones, would you care to share some of your preferred artists in that genre?

Actually not that often, not really. I just casually listen to gypsy stuff, Paco de Lucia, etc sometimes. It's a field in which I'd love to discover more stuff :)

I don't actually own one, but I'm curious to know what BKPs you could recommend for a fretless guitar, like a Vigier Excalibur, or possibly a fretless 7 string. (and if the fretless aspect actually affects the tone). Goal tone would be something overall avant garde

Never tried one but I suspect the tone will be mellower, like fretless basses! I'd go for something pretty versatile like alnico Nailbomb or Holy Diver bridge and VH2 neck personally.

Hey dude recently I've been using the Friedman HBE with the citrus v30 cab (sm57) amazing tone. Just wondering if you've tried it and are the new ultra res cabs in V13 even better?

I love the HBE, one of my fav amp models for sure. I don't personally use mic simulation, doesn't make sense to me when you have an already mic'd cab impulse :) Yes I love the new UltraRes IRs, they sound fantastic imho.

I know this is more of an amp thing, but whith what pickup would it be easier to get that mid focused and crunchy Ulcerate like tone? Let's say on a mahogany body, bolt on maple neck and 25.5 scale.

Ulcerate use ceramic Warpigs, very crushing sounding.

Ok so i had a squier for years, then a year and a half ago I bought my first real guitar, a 7 string (a Schecter SLS c-7 and after a RG1527),and recently i traded my 1527 for a solo6 ATX (schecter) and I find it easier to shred on this 6 string (rounder neck) than on my C-7 (thin neck). Is it normal

go with what suits you best, don't overthink it :)

did you know carvin is now offering black limba and white korina???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O yea. That's why I love Carvin even more now :)

Fran,I really hate that on my rg8, when I try to play up in the neck my wrist creates lots of tension and makes me uncomfortable and if I continue like that it hurts after a bit,but when I'm playing in a sitting position that doesn't happen, what do you recommend to do? (I also have hitchhiker thumb)

Hi, I'm looking into ordering a Carvin 7 string and I really like the aesthetic of flamed Koa as a top wood. But I don't know much about tonewood and topwood combinations. Do you have any suggestions or ideas for the 'best' combination? thanks!
