I personally don't like it and find it overpriced, that being said lots of friends use it with success. I'd stay away from ProMusicTools, everything costs 10x there
Will you switch out the AA batteries in the acoustic with a 9volt system? Or are you not gonna bother with that stuff?
nah, it's not that I have to put EMGs on it :) it's just for the piezo and tuner so why bother
best balanced string gauge for drop C# and best over all guitar pick ?
But didn't intervals the solar on their second album?
Nope, RGD2127 with Aftermath bridge and Cold Sweat neck. That being said, any audio engineer with good skills can make ANY guitar sound good for ANY purpose, and in the mix the difference are even less discernible. I just told you my preference :)
Lol, the worst wood combination you wrote about is just like ola's strictly 7 solar except for the 27.5" scale length :p
I don't like that combination, exactly. He has different hands, uses different pickups and still manages to get killer tones out of it for sure, but it wouldn't sound good for the stuff I write/play
Ever played a Caparison Horus? :3 I'm really thinking of getting one. How does it compare to ESP/LTD Horizon models?
Yes, definitely excellent guitars, imho a bit above ESP quality, but never been intrigued by them to be honest.
I love headless guitars, with that said are you a coke or pepsi man?
neither
Worst wood combination/s for a guitar? Genre = Overall
Just my opinion: neck thru with either ash or maple or walnut wings, maple or walnut neck thru, ebony fretboard and something like 28"+ scale, coupled with bright sounding pickups. It would sound like a dry fart
What's The Lord Xenu scale?
no idea, google it
Would a blackhawk set work well in an ibanez rg7421? I play alot of progressive metal
yes, the ceramic option
would you install a nailbomb alnico v set in a mahogany body/neck ebony fretboard les paul ? I love alnico althouthg the say it fits better bight guitars..what would you say about it ?
Depends on purpose and tuning. Generally I'd say yes :)
Could you link me to Carvin's virtual builder? I've Googled and looked around their site but I'm not finding anything. Is it their gallery you're referring to?
go to the model's page your interested in, click "guitar builder" on the right
tone differences between blackhawk and painkiller?
Blackhawk: less mids than Painkiller, more saturated, more balanced, more chuggy, more bass/low end. Painkiller: VERY aggressive mids, very crunchy and gnarly, more djenty, tighter.
People seem to say that it's important to just write what comes out. I guess stuff thats boring and isn't really memorable comes out most of the time. Do you have any advice for this kind of thing?
Completely erase what you're listening and search new stuff, take inspiration from unusual things, even totally unrelated to guitar. Also experiment with techniques you're not familiar with! At least you're recognizing the un-memorable issue regarding your stuff, and that's an excellent first step. Plenty of bands don't even start to acknowledge that and they release utter crap. I play uninteresting stuff while noodling around, but eventually something cool comes out once in a while and I make sure to record it and store it in the "cool riffs" folder :)
Francesco, come stai! Haha dude, not that DC800s are coming out with the passive pups option. What woods would you use to get a good tone to get a good rhythm tone and bright cleans? Thanks dude, have a nice day!
for sure ebony fretboard and either alder or ash body wings
