hey man, what are the differences between flat and round wound strings?

I cannot explain it tone-wise since I have them in such a different guitar than my electrics that it wouldn't be a fair comparison, but flatwounds are very very smooth in feel. I guess they should sound warmer and less "direct" than nickel wound or steel, to be a better fit for jazz musicians.

On my 7620, my seventh string buzzes like fuck from the 12th to 24th frets. I have no idea what this is from. I tune to drop Ab and use 10-52's and a 66. Doesn't seem to be the truss rod

It's either the truss rod or bridge is too low. It may also be some unleveled frets, take it to a tech and you'll know

What would be a good guitar for decent rhythm but also able to do well in solo's, budget is pitifully small at about 300 but moneys tight and I'm still in secondary school. I'd prefer something thats not a fake fender or gibson, since theyre very un-original, but you're judgements better than mine

Are you a fan of Dream Theater at all/much?

I like them for sure, but they're not among my favourite bands. Know all the songs though :)

Whats your opinion about the Event Opals? And how's the "in-room" sound on a small room? thanks

I'm gonna buy Opals as my next monitors, "in room" sound depends on how much headroom the cab or monitor will provide.

How do you tweak your recording/low volume Axe presets vs gigging/rehearsal volume presets? Do you just use the global EQ to tame the highs and lows, or create specific live patches with amps EQ'd differently, or do both, etc. There are so many ways to go about it, just curious what you do.

I generally tend to like warmer and more mid/lowmid oriented tones live or at very high volumes, I just try to build a warm sounding but equally tight preset. In my experience usual PAs I have to deal with boost highs and lows a lot, so it's normal to enhance mids rather than these other two frequencies.

hey Franceso,in terms of practicing with axe fx 2 at bedroom in your opinion which one is the better way to get a "amp in a room sound, also with more dynamics"? 1.powered speakers 2.poweramp+cab thanks dude!!

Poweramp+Cab will get you more "amp in a room" vibe, but powered monitors would be better for bedroom volume. Dynamics are in your hands/guitar/Axe Fx, not the cab or speakers :)

what BKP neck/bridge would you recommend for modern rock tone(versatile sound) on the jp12? (not extreme metal or chuggings) thanks Francesco

Rebel Yell bridge for sure, and perhaps Nailbomb neck!

what's the most "overpriced" guitar you ever tried(whatever brand) like your playing dude!! stay awesome:)

some Mayones stuff or the Ibanez M8M, they were excellent but price was way off the scale.
It also depends where you live, in Italy all guitars are overpriced, Music Mans can cost even 3400 euros and made in Indo Schecters are 1200 euros, lol.

Ciao Francesco!

if you got tons of money to buy guitars, what's your priority list?(custom shops included)

Way too many to list hahahaah

Aftermath vs. M7 in a JP12?

Had an Aftermath in my JPXI-7 and had a (just sold) M7 in my JP12-7. Both killer, but if I would have to choose, Aftermath. Gonna put Blackhawks in my JP12 soon, let's see how they'll perform!

ever tried a Siggi Braun? cheers~

Yes, I tried Ola's new custom and also have made a video with one of their hollow bodies time ago. Insane guitars, on par with the best and Mr. Siggi is a super good guy!

why no get a Vik man, as you adore it so much?...but recently there are rumors about his progress

He has stopped taking orders and hopefully will return taking them very soon, but I'm saving up for other stuff so no new guitars (except a couple ones I payed long ago) for a while!

hi francesco, I saw that you played on guitar ibanez tam 100, what did you think of it? And on the arm bubinga? sucesses :D

Best guitar I played at their Musikmesse booth, superb playability and very high quality overall.

Franciesco, come sono blecmascin? dove le compro? il mio negozzio di musica non le a

questo o è Don o è Christian che trolla allegramente :D

hi~i noticed that you have tried out a frank hartung guitar in 2013 messe~ would like to ask what do you feel about them? in terms of playability and craftsmanship would you want one?haha

These guitars are FUCKIN STELLAR. Wood choice is at Vik level imho, Vik himself was truly impressed by these instruments. They have their unique take on a classic design and do it beautifully. Too bad I played like crap with their booth amp otherwise I would have appreciated them even more.

Have you ever tried a Caparison? What's your opinion about those guitars?

Very high quality, solid and consistent guitars. The ones I've played had a super tight sound and very comfortable necks.
