Is an iPhone good enough quality to record the video portion of a cover?

I definitely think so! Lots of videos on my YT channel are shot with iPhone so as long as you play tight, why not :)

I'm thinking about switching my black hawks to some other bkp's. I'm gonna put an aftermath in the bridge but I'm not sure yet for the neckpu. I'm looking for a really clear sound, not too much bass, for clean sounds with my neckpu. (swamp ash body, rosewood neck, ebony board). What would suit me?

I'd suggest VHII

how is your carvin's neck to say Ibanez necks? I have an ibanez and i love the wizard necks and just wondering how a carvin neck is compared to it. thanks,.

It's not as flat, more of a comfy thin C shape. Not super thin like Ibbies but definitely not big at all. I love it :)

Hi francesco I'm satisfied with my tone but I can't seem to set the gates properly. If I set it harder to keep the open string ringing while i'm doing heavy stuff the sond gets weak , my chain is Bare knuckle juggernauts>line6podHd with Gate>Tubescreamer>Gate>Compressor>amp , What do you recommend ?

I almost never use noisegates but I'm not into super djenty gated stuff, although if I were you I'd just put overdrive-noisegate-amp and keep it simple. Don't emulate other people's chains just because :)

Hey Francesco, what would you say is the best way to pick up speed on sweeps? Like, which specific sweeps are best to practice? Thank! :D

Hey! please read FAQ #2 :)

Hey Francesco, what are the best cab impulses for LeCab etc.? Cheers

ah there's tons of good ones out there really! The IR section on Fractal forum would be a good starting point to check them I think.

Hey Francesco, would you advice using multi-band compression on guitars when subtractive EQing has left them sounding kinda weak.Thanks. :)

The only case in which I'd apply MB compression on distorted guitars is when you have an overly "woofy/oomphy" low end that needs to be tamed, which seems the opposite of your situation. Also, if subtractive EQ makes them sound weaker, maybe you shouldn't subtract that much :)

Hey! Do you think I could get a Carvin CT424 if my budget's around $1000? Thanks in advanced

The base price is around 1200$ so either a used one or save more!

I was wondering if there are any books that could help me study and learn more about the theory behind sound in general like what specific properties lead to what kind of sound. I wanted to see if it helps learning about sound in general along with tweaking of amps and other things for tone chasing.

I'm sure there is a mega-compendium of audio effects with their explanation on the internet, but I can't help you there. Regarding tone chasing I've always used my ears without digging too much about the theoretical aspects

Hey man, looking to buy a 5150 III record my bands new record, but not sure if I should go 50 or 100 watt. It'll be run through an Orange PPC412 (v30s) or a Mesa oversized. What are the pros and cons of each in a red cording situation? Progressive metal/hardcore. Thanks for the help buddy.

When money permits, I'm gonna buy myself a 5150III 50w and a Mesa oversized for studio work and reamps. Hope this answers your questions :)

what's your opinion on metalcore bands like August Burns Red, Texas In July, The Devil Wears Prada, etc.?

I have a huge lack of knowledge on Hardcore/Metalcore, mostly because I was never that much into it. Never listened to those bands, sorry :)

BKP question! I need help choosing a bridge pickup for my 90's RG550. Already have a fernandes sustainer in the neck. Want something for leads ala Andy Timmons. high output but controllable with a bit of twang (will install a coil tap too for that I guess). What do you recommend?

Rebel Yell, Holy Diver and Abraxas are all awesome options :) Rebel Yell would be brighter but in a good way.

If Carvin was to build the Francesco Filigoi signature guitar & you could have whatever you wanted, what would the guitar look like and would the specs be?

haha I'm not worthy of a signature :) I don't know but most likely I would choose ebony fretboard, mahogany body, maple neck, maple top and standard scale.

can you make a tab or a video lesson of your solo in Fred Brum's frozen soul? Please, that solo is absolutely stunning!

Thanks! Sure I'll do a tab when I have a moment :)

che lavoro fai?

In parte grafico, in parte lezioni di chitarra. Di questi tempi 50 e 50 ma pian piano l'insegnamento diventa la priorità :)

Would you say that the Axe FX II is worth the money? I'm actually too young for a job so it would take sooo long so save up for one but would it be worth the wait?

Read FAQ #7

Would you ever consider selling your universe? If so how much?

I would consider selling everything, for the right price. I've searched that guitar for so long and I'm attached to it, so you bet the right price would be DAMN HIGH for me to let it go :)

Would you mind making a small video lesson and put up on YouTube? :)

Here are a couple lessons I've put on YT during the last months:

Regarding pure technique-involved lessons, it's stuff I teach via Skype/Bandhappy, but will add downloadable video lessons along with tabs in a proper store in the near future. I believe what I teach is helpful enough to be worth some bucks, free stuff is cool but this is my job :)
