I'm about to receive my first ever Axe-Fx 2! Anything you could maybe tell me? Any advice? Thanks! I have a 2011 fat iMac and guitars and cables that's it.

1 - buy a proper USB cable to connect it as audio/midi interface
2 - download latest drivers, firmware and banks from fractalaudio.com
3 - download fractal bot to update firmware, banks, transfer presets/cabs to and from the machine
4 - READ THE FUCKIN MANUAL GODDAMIT!!!
5 - read Axe Fx wiki online for additional infos
6 - go to Axechange website to download cool presets
7 - DON'T FUCKIN RELY ON PRESETS U LAZY ASS!!! Learn how to build proper tones that work for you and fine tune your ears, knobs will follow.
8 - enjoy the Axe Fx!
If you still have doubts, I offer Axe-oriented specific lessons, or build custom presets at request.

Yea I know em: excellent vibratos, very young and very talented, some cool moments for sure. I've also read some of their ask.fm answers, seems they have their head in the right place.
Although the music is still very derivative (glitch breaks, mile zero's solo all over the place etc), and the video is surely good looking but I've already expressed my thoughts on "outside playthroughs", it's overkill in this case since it can fool somebody in thinking the music is better than what it actually is. Not a bad thing, the track is cool and the video is high quality.

It's a badass tuning imho! I think Keith Merrow uses it, also my other guitarist's band Despite Exile uses that tuning on 6 string.

Thank you for calling out that Ab question haha, seems like everyone else is tuning down to Ab for no reason most times. Elixir doesn't make anything between a 56/68 so just keep my 7's between B Standard and order a set of 10 .60 gauge strings for Drop A.

Elixir bass strings are exactly the same as their guitar strings, so you can purchase these if you want, although they're pricier. I purchased Elixir 60 bass strings for a long time!

What's your favourite Ibanez model, if you have any?

how do you tend to program some cool fiils in drums i'm learning programming drum atm but don't have any idea on progarmming fills! help me :P

1 - watch drummers extensively, learn how to "think like a drummer". remember you only have two hands and two feet :)
2 - plenty of youtube videos with super cool fills to learn
3 - plenty of fills in Toontrack midi libraries to be used, or to be modified to your taste, or just to take inspiration from

Hi I'm planning on getting a Carvin DC600 in the near future, would you suggest me the woods and BKPs to swap in? I play mostly in distortion, pretty much in the style of Cynic (E standard): fast riffing, big chords, and smooth lead sound, but would also like some beautiful clean too. Thank you!!

Is there any specific reason you went for ivory graph tech nut on your last Carvin other than aesthetic preference?

The only difference is cosmetic, no tonal or functional changes.

I would like your suggestions for spec'ing out a Carvin 7 as well as aftermarket pickups. I'm into riffing in the style of John Browne/Monuments and I would be tuning to Drop Ab. I would like something that has a lot of attack and punch, but also can handle chords well. Thanks!

What do you think about the new Karnivool?

Haven't listened to yet completely, just the first four tracks. Very textured vibes, needs more listens to be fully appreciated but for now I'm not that amazed by the songs

Do you have any experience with q-tuner pickups?

Yes, had one in an Agile 8 string I used to own time ago, neck position. Didn't like it at all, way too transparent, no character at all, no balls.
