What is that thing you put at the top of the neck? and why do people bash others for using it?
It's a Gruv Gear Fretwrap http://www.gruvgear.com/fretwraps and it's a string dampener. It can be used for removing weird string resonances above the nut (the way I usually use it) or to block string resonances on the fretboard (during tapping for example). Some people think it's cheating, I think it's not at all: no matter how clean you are there will always be weird string resonances on the fretboard, and it helps clean the tone a bit. Guthrie uses them, Tosin uses them, and a lot of the best tappers I know use them for a reason. They help in a good way.The same thing applied to drums would be moongels: dampening the physical resonance doesn't make you any better at the instrument :)

What is your attitude to human cloning?
They have probably already done it years ago, would be curious to check how it came out
pod hd+red wire impulses=axe fx competitor?
nope
Hey dude, could I just message you on facebook? since I cant right it all the way out in here, and if i attempt to, I wouldn't get my point across and I could really use your help on this.
If it's something specific and important, yes no prob :)
what do you think about siggery guitars? :)
Never tried one, but the ones I've seen online look solid and are very fairly priced. The brand is operated by a single person afaik so I'm sure he already has an overload of work, not being an estabilished company this means there could be delays from order to delivery since he has to take care of everything about his business. Just guessing though, never dealt with the guy :)
maybe a strange questions, but it's a problem for me: guitars in my mixes sound "too close" and too much in-your-face. this actually makes them sound a little cheap in comparison to professional mixes where they are nicely embedded in some kind of room. i go direct out of an axe fx 2, what can i do?
It can be a million reasons really. Usually it's a matter of changing drive-amp-cab model and EQ, no more than that.
WTF you said you had nothign on your GAS list now you do
OMG breaking news right?
Why so many Emg's haters??? I mean, for me this pickups are great (81,85,60), and there are many great users, I like others pickups brands too, SD sentient (Insanely good), D Chrunchlab Liqufire, what do you think about EMg?
Copypasting a previous answer: "You can't deny that a huge amount of the best Rock/Metal records of all time has been recorded with EMGs. While I do prefer passives for cleans, leads and crunches, EMGs are very hard to beat for strictly rhythm recording. I personally think both 81/85 are amazing in the bridge and sub-par in the neck position. The 60 is good in the neck but the 66 is even better."
I bought a set of seymour duncan nazgul and sentient pickups with the black metal covers to put in my Ibanez 1077xl. I filed down the tabs so they're shaped like dimarzios and then I found out they won't fit in the pickup cavities because of the covers on the pickups.WHAT DO I DO?!
Route the cavities or sell them and buy non-covered ones. Sucks, I know
if any regular guy you just know him/her on the internet asked you to chill out and talking about guitars and gears, will able to take a walk with him/her?
ok let's get u out of music question!
where do u love to spend spend your free times?
away from guitars and music
I love eating out and trying as many different places I can with friends and gf, go to the cinema, walks with girl and dog, simple stuff. I do a bit of photography but it's not free time, it's demanding too :) I used to work out a lot but then music became the priority, although I do want to restart very very soon.
Just copypasting something I already wrote: "It's always about how you do stuff, not how much. quality > quantity".
what inspire u to write music (riffs/solos)
Music!
what about known how to read chords and scales do see it's important and every guitarist should learn how to read it, or its ok with covering and playing by ear?
The importance of sight-reading in Metal is close to zero. For chords and scales, there are tabs and diagrams :) Ears and taste are what matters.
Hi there my friend from Australia bought the other Jackson stripper soloist from Guitar Asylum. He's extremely concerned as it stripper soloist does not have a serial number on it anywhere. Does your guitar have the same issue and are these strippers real Jacksons?
Never listened to him that much so he's definitely not among my influences, but DAMN he can play. Love his phrasing and what he can do with simple note choice
