Hey man, I own an ESP SC-207 Stephen Carpenter model, and it needs new pickups. It has a bridge & middle pickup, but no neck one. I'd like to do everything from Periphery, to Sworn In, to Explosions In The Sky. I'll be running it through an Eleven Rack if that helps. What pickups do you recommend?

Do you play bass very often?

I slappadabazz once or twice in a while and enjoy a lot doing so :) Been slapping a lot on guitar too, getting some cool ideas as of late.
When I play bass finger-style or picking style, I tend to write much groovier stuff than on guitar, which always tends to be more on the technical side :)

u said you don't like burl top guitars, what about the burl top blackmachine b2? nollys b2 if im right? how does it play?

It's not that I don't like them, but most of the time they get boring pretty fast to me.
I'm sure if Doug picked burl maple for Nolly's B2 he had his reason to do so, I actually love that guitar.

Do you come from a musical family?

Unfortunately not, my parents have always been close-minded, ignorant in the music field and therefore never supported my musical endeavours. Always a fight. Only now that I'm starting getting some recognition they're slightly respecting my choice more. I admit it's very tough when you have zero support and you're on your own.

There is no favourite, just what conveys best a certain vibe in a certain moment :)

Nailbomb is very chuggy. alternatively, Miracle Man, Blackhawk and Warpig provide quality healthy chugs.

How is your stage setup, when you plan to melt people's faces?

Our rig is:
First rack

- Furman Power Conditioner
- Axe Fx II
Second rack
- Furman Power Conditioner
- Axe Fx Ultra (to be raplced with II)
- Line6 G90 wireless
Voice: Audix Om5
Drums: depends but we recently replaced Alesis kick triggers with Roland TD-20 module ones.
Bass: for now Ampeg but when serious gigging occurs I think we'll just switch to a SansAmp or Darkglass B7K

what do you think about walnut ?

generally speaking, tonally similar to maple but with more firm bass. Kinda like maple mixed with ash! Not as consistent as maple, but I have chosen it nonetheless for my incoming 7 string

What are the advantages and disadvantages of an all maple guitar? Maple neck, maple body, maple top etc?

Theoretically speaking:
- too heavy
- too "hard" and focused sounding on the center and upper mids
- not rich sounding and resonant, lacking fundamental low-mids and high presence frequencies
Basically it wouldn't be something generally pleasant but harsh, too focused and not broad enough EQ-wise to let the guitar breathe properly.

have you ever broken a bone?

I broke my left wrist playing soccer as a child, then when I was just starting guitar I had a cyst in my right wrist which didn't let me play easily on the fretboard, so I had to learn guitar the right way (I'm lefty).
Then I had a scooter accident and couldn't move my left hand for a month, then earlier this year I microfractured my pinky. I can still play though :P

overall quality is better in rg premium or in sterling by mm?

I'd say on par, or slightly better on Premiums generally speaking

are u graduated or still studying? what's ur specialization?

I've finished my studies three years ago: went to second level college of science, then began architecture university but I then switched to graphic design. Finished with a master in type design at polytechnic university in Milan

What do you think about Vik guitars? I've been meaning to order a duality 7 with a quilt maple top but can't find a pic of the top in that shape, do you have any? Thanks!

do you honestly think woods have an audible difference in electric guitars? would you be willing to participate in a blind test?

Of course they do, I have the same pickup in four guitars and like hell they sound the same. Although in my opinion scale length changes the tone more than woods.

Opinions on Strandberg?

Ola's work is phenomenal, on par with the best in the game. My favourite one is Fred's 8 string, that guitar is perfect! Haven't tried the Washburn factory ones but I liked the S7G ones a lot too, all very inspiring and comfortable to play.

how old were you when you had your first band or band experience, and which kind of music (genre) have you played? :)

I think 13 or 14, just jamming and spending quality time with local guitarists/drummers etc :) always Metal ofc, but I also played with the high-school "classic music" band haha
