I'm starting a band pretty soon and until we find a guitarist (me and drummer). could i record just the guitar tracks and play with them with the drummer? or just use a looper? like record the rhythm and harmonies and play to them with the drummer
When it's not possible to rehearse all together and it's just me and the drummer, I just play the rhythm part which is what matters to the drummer. If the guitars are not doing rhythm-lead but just harmonies it matters even less, just play your part :)Although I do make sure I at least provide our drummer a rough recording or a guitarpro file to give him an idea of the big picture.
have you ever tried the line 6 POD HD (not the rack/pro version) i mean the pedalboard version? if so how do you think of them?
It's definitely good! Just not as good as Axe/Kemper but it's also way cheaper. You get what you pay for I guess
do you ever have technical difficulties using skype for lessons?
It happens sometimes, nothing than closing the call and re-calling doesn't fix tho!
I find myself getting very distracted with practice. It seems whenever I pickup my guitar and turn on the metronome to practice one thing, I can't help but think about all the other things I should be practicing as well(from exercises to my own music)Its starting to become frustrating. suggestions?
Practice one thing at a time, only when you feel comfortable with a certain exercise and do it clean at a good speed, then think about the next step. If you rush stuff it's never gonna work, you have to be methodic regarding it...just don't think of any other exercises while you do your current one :) Music should always have the priority though, compose and get inspired as much as you can regardless of your current technical level!
I live in Italy and I want to order a set of Bare Knuckles, can you help set me up?
Se sei italiano perchè non parli in italiano porcaccioildiocane? :)
You look like Italian Paul Gilbert
that is a huge compliment haha :)
0.60 Elixir bass string + 7 string set works for most 8 strings?
.60 would be the 7th string, .74 for example suits the 8th string best.
I remember you said you need more classic and prog rock in your life. Please listen to Rush! They're one of the best prog rock bands in existence, and they're still touring and writing albums!
yes, 2112 is next on my list!
You you like 6 in a row headstock or 3+3?
both can look awesome with the right headstock design :)
I thoroughly played an 8 string today, it was amazing! The neck didn't feel big at all. If only Elixir made a set for them.
Fact: Elixir bass strings are exactly the same as their guitar strings. I often purchase their .60 bass string for my guitars, and the bigger ending ball doesn't bother me at all. They cost more though :/I still think D'Addarios are the best sounding ones for recording, but Elixirs last so fuckin long!
