Should I drop 3k for a JP BFR 7 string or get a custom carvin 7 for half the price? The quality is similar?

Quality is indeed similar, go with the Carvin. JP have their trems and piezo though and if that's your preference, save for JP

I have a Cube 30xl Roland and I would like a great dist pedal (something rich and djenty). All the pedals I see sound like they "should" because they're all demoed on tube amps. Is there a solution to my solid state misery?

Sorry to say but don't expect miracles from a Roland Cube + Dist pedal in front (although it's not that bad). I'd suggest you to dig into VST plugins, lots of free ones that can achieve a very convincing tone.

Hey Fran would you recommend a painkiller or coldsweat in the bridge with an accompanying coldsweat neck pup in a basswood Ibanez rg 920 for tones that range from tight bass, mid driven progressive metal to bright and focused modern shred to even some convincing fusion tones, stellar cleans as well

Cold Sweat!

wich pickup is similar to VH2 but with a lower price from the traditional brands (dimarzio and duncan) ?

VH2 is unbeatable imho and something from other brands might not sound as good, that being said I like PAF Pros

Does the JP12 sound "darker" than the JPXI? Which one did you prefer and why?

JPXI in my experience sounds darker and more focused, JP12 is less focused, more airy on leads but still is a very warm guitar. I preferred JP12 overall

dear friend im gonna buy a MN jp70 i´v heard it has tuning issues what you think about it ? or i should wait and get an used prestige ibanez

Prestige Ibby will be of better quality, have no idea about tuning issues on the Sterling 7 string since I just played it for 5 mins...played really good!

Sounds like a silly question, but what would suit better a Tech Death tone (Obscura, Beyond Creation and such) between a Nazgul and a Pegasus?

I like both and both would fit there, Pegasus being a bit "cleaner" and lower output, Nazgul more brutal but still tight. I prefer Nazgul but up to you :)

Why using a 4x12 on stage/recording if only one speaker is miced?

That's actually a good question. Simple answer is: 4x12 just sound different than 2x12 and 1x12, they sound bigger, airier, less boxy, with extended lows and highs. This translates to the individual speakers themselves and into the mic as well. Another thing is, of course you have more SPL and that helps a lot on smaller venues.

1. what whitechapel song is he covering? 2. when will a full song be released? 3. can we at least get a teaser with some vocals?

1 - Faces!
2 - same reason as before, audio is well ready but need to film the video-portion for it, booked later this year. It's the very first one, it has to be done right and special :)
3 - definitely there will be a teaser w/ vox before the official vid comes out. I am very very happy with the outcome, hope you'll like it too!

For abiogenesis, what kind of vocals are you looking to get? Is it going to be something in the mould of most progressive bands today (harsh growls + clean) or pure death metal, or something else?

A bit of everything actually, from growls to screams and everything in between. Some cleans and whispers too, why not! Our screamer is gonna release a Whitechapel cover next week so you'll hear his more brutal side of things for sure :)

but I mean wich differences from a user perspective: the feel, the cleans from the neck in each version, the dynamics, etc. the sound demos and specs I already saw in BKP site, sorry for bother you :/

VH2 is more classic voiced, juicy and responsive imho. Cold Sweat is edgier or more modern in voicing. I'd sum it as VH2 for Per Nilsson stuff and Cold Sweat for Broderick shred :) cleans are superb on both but I prefer VH2.

Hi francesco, I wanna change pickups on a basswood body ibanez with rosewood top(fixed bridge), I wanna have something really brutal, like Vogg's tone in Carnival Is Forever, but with passive circuit, and if it's possible to have the chance of split the pickups and have a Cynic-esque clean tone for

Vogg's tone is in his hands + the stellar production of that album, you cannot sum it in a pickup haha :) I think ceramic Nailbomb is the perfect choice for Decap-tone, couple it with Cold Sweat neck!

Do you like the good old Seymour dunkan JB ...I think it is so cliche that a lot of people seem to forget how versatile this pu is ...

One of my favourite Rock pickups, and EXCELLENT for leads!

giacomo and jey are from despite exile right? do you like theire music?

Correct they also play in Despite Exile :) I love their music a lot, their debut album is going to destroy. Giacomo keeps his more "experimental" ideas for Abiogenesis, while regarding Jei expect a slightly different timbre and vibe from him with Abio, I assure you his voice will fit perfectly. Demon!

Im not sure if this is accurate, but it seems like bolt on construction seems to be more popular and preferred for prog metal rhythm playing. Are neck thru guitars not going to be as appropriate?

Anything is going to work, but I personally find bolt-on to have more snappy attack, that can help the type of riffing related to the "prog" you're probably referring to.

Hello good sir, do you know any 7 string guitar with 26.5 scale length I can get with in 2000 USD with an evertune bridge? After seeing evertune, I loathe floyd rose or anything similar. :(

Good news for you, a new Halo 7 string with 27" scale and Evertune just came out...yesterday? It's 1299$ if I'm not mistaken. Although I suggest you to wait for Ola's signature 7 but I'm not sure about its scale length, will probably be baritone as well.

Hey Francesco, I absolutely love and envy your technique in doing bends and vibrato, do you have time to give me a lesson on just those things?

Thanks man! I spent a lot of time perfecting them, I really think it's the fundamental of lead playing. Going fast without having proper vibrato/bend is like driving a Ferrari without a license haha :) sure we could dig further into the left hand mechanics behind it. Hit me up on FB for further details about lessons etc.
