Hey Francesco! In terms of guitar effects (delay, reverb etc.) what plug ins would you recommend?

Lexicon reverbs and Soundtoys Echoboy, hard to beat them.

Hi Francesco! What do you think about Ron "bumblefoot" Thal? :)

Never had the chance to listen to his stuff but I hear he's mind blowing. Gotta check him out asap!

Hey man can you kindly add the profiles (mainly woods and PUs) of your custom axes on the photos on fb, or please point out where I can check them out just for reference? Since I've been looking on your fb photos for almost an hour and would really appreciate if you provide these information! Thx!!

Most of them have proper NGDs on sevenstring.org with review and specs, if you don't find them just ask me specifically and I'll answer :)

So you ended up liking the Brj 8 over the carvin?

Both are very good guitars and I would put them on the same level.

we have little interaction on facebook and I was wondering if you wanted me to delete you? I added you because I love your videos and love getting updated about stuff and if need be I could talk to you about a guitar/music related thing. just wondering because i saw your comment on fred's status.

I enjoy having guitar-related friendships, even if we have never met or talked :) I'm really happy you're into what I do.
My comment was more about having plenty of completely unrelated people in my friends list just because they're from my city or I used to know them waaaay long ago, so when I have time I'll make space for new guitar-related friendships instead of those :)

Ti piacciono le Dean Razorback come chitarre?

sì dai, c'è molto di meglio ma fanno il loro sporco lavoro

What bare knuckle pickups would you recommend that are similar in nature to the Dimarzio Tone Zone/Air Norton combo? I'm looking for a fairly diverse set of pickups that aren't too high in output. I was thinking maybe a nail bomb/painkiller combo but I'm open to any recommendations

They are not exactly the same voicing but they excel at the same thing that TZ and AN do: Holy Diver and VH2. Fantastic pickups!

How hot is your guitar signal when running it through an amp VST like guitar rig?

I've already answered this question, look at the previous answers in my ask.fm profile

since most of us are disappointed with JP13, maple board JP. yay or nay?

Trooch would never do that, afaik he doesn't like them. Too bad!

Do you feel that on certain guitars you play different styles of music specifically because it suits that guitar more?

Absolutely! It often happens that I'm guided by the guitar's tone/vibe, and not viceversa. That's why I like to play as many guitars as possible, always brings new inspiration to my hands.

Do you find that different guitar tunings require different EQ'ing? If so, how drastic are the changes?

It depends on infinite factors, so just use your ears and hope they work well :)

Hey Francesco, I own a Ibanez RGA7 and I can't wait to change the pickups in it. I'm not entirely sure what to go for to get an all round great metal sound. Can you recommend a set that would benefit? Thanks

Regardless of love/hate that people have towards them, EMG 81-7 or 707 = all around great Metal sound. I like the 60-7 in the neck. If you feel adventurous, try the X series instead.

Ciao Francesco! :D Mi piacerebbe comprare una ESP horizon, ma prima mi piacerebbe sapere il tuo parere su questa chitarra. Grazie :)

Chitarre della madonna!

Hi Francesco, I was thinking about changing pu's on my schecter hellraiser 8, active to passive: mind giving advice? I want a jazzy, clean tone for the nech, and a hi-output pu at the bridge, since I play from fusion to prog metal. Thx in advance, mate

Take a look at the new Nazgul, Sentient and Pegasus models from Seymour Duncan, they're going to be available soon and will retrofit your active pickup routes. Each of them addresses one of the qualities you mentioned. Also keep in mind that your guitar has pots for actives, I'd suggest removing the tone knobs from the circuit and replace the current volume pot with a BKP 550K one.

Hey man, I absolutely love really loud pick attack when it comes to alt picking, except I refuse to use the neck pickup (because I think it helps hide mess). So what bridge pickup would you suggest with a lot of pick attack? ( I have EMG 707's at the moment.) Thanks bro.

BKP Aftermath has more pick attack than every other pickup I've tried. I prefer the neck pickup way more when alternate picking, gives more "flow" to the notes and with the right one you can have both attack and fluidity, not something a 707 can achieve since it's very muddy in the neck. Great bridge pickup though.
