Do drummers develop any sort of callouses (kind of like guitar/bass players develop them on their fingertips)?

Seriously though, it happens sometimes on the lower parts of the inside of your fingers if you're gripping too tight, are playing for too long (in Ringo's case, Helter Skelter was a three-hour jam in the studio), or just haven't picked up the sticks in a while. The skin ends up just toughening up though so they're not too bothersome in the long run.
