I’m late to answering your question. I hope they enjoyed dinner. Generally speaking, you want to avoid dairy products and simple carbohydrates with these two conditions. Lactose free milk and cheese do exist, however, and are great substitutes. Most diabetics should avoid sweet dessert, although a very small portion may be acceptable. Just talk to them about it.

Do you speak with a certain dialect? How's that dialect typically considered being by others who speak your mother tongue? 💬🌍
My dialect is Acadian (Cajun), to an extent. It’s not that strong, in my opinion, but my sis in law said she doesn’t always understand what I said. Mostly it’s my accent that throws people off. People hear me speak and know I live in the Southeast USA. My vocabulary tends to be less Southern than average. For example, I never say “fixing to” and I don’t call soft drinks “cokes” unless it’s actually a Coca-Cola. And I have never “fetched” anything in my life. Hollywood stereotypes are annoying. Some people here do say those things, though.
