What is the lesson that you will never forget?
One of the most empowering moments of my life was declaring “I am not required to know these people” and burning bridges. You may hear the advice “Don’t burn any bridges because you might need them later” and I am here to say that advice sucks. Do whatever you can to never need toxic people. They will try to make you zone in on them as if they are the only people on Earth. Stand up for yourself, set boundaries, and be prepared to burn the bridges of those who disrespect you. I wish I had done it so much sooner.

If I weren’t disabled, I would do pretty well. I’m not afraid of snakes or heights or most of the things they’ve shown. The exception is cockroaches, which I would never mention in my audition, so they would hopefully not subject me to them. The key is to tell them you’re afraid of something you’re not really afraid of. 😉

I want to stop cursing, but it seems to come out before I can filter it. Maybe cognitive therapy will eventually help. I never cursed a day until I started a certain medication in 2012, but I’ll be on it the rest of my life.

Some people do build online businesses and do well, but it’s not yet the norm, and you have to ignore all of the ads that sound too good to be true. Do your own thing from the ground up if you can.

People are going to process their lives in a way that you may not always be comfortable with. That’s the nature of the human condition. If you feel anyone is in danger, express your concern to them and offer to listen without judgment. Otherwise, leave them alone to work out their own conditions. Thanks for wanting to help, but it’s really not your place unless they ask you for it.
