I’m retired from writing and editing papers. I recommend a freelance pay-per-project site such as Upwork. (it’s upwork dot com, I can’t direct-link them here). There are lots of people there ready to help! 🙂

Civil War reenactments: cultural insensitivity or living history lessons?

Ehhhh 😬 that’s a tough one isn’t it? I’m a history enthusiast, but I refuse to glorify war. If it is presented in the correct historical context, perhaps it’s acceptable. But I know too many people who use such things as fuel for their so-called “heritage not hate” arguments. Context is everything!
I do recommend Civil War books, videos, movies, and TV series for educational purposes. I guess I would have to say the same for reenactments, as long as they are presented without political agenda. That said, I don’t necessarily want to attend one myself. I don’t even like guns.
TL;DR: History is vital, but must be offered factually and without bias.

What comes to your mind, when you hear “spirituality”?

Sorry I screwed up this question earlier. I accidentally clicked on the wrong thing. Spirituality is a journey of the inner self, or soul, to find meaning and purpose in this existence, as well as hope for the next, if one believes in the afterlife.

Where is the line between culturally appropriate dress and cultural appropriation?

In a world bombarded by Disney and other fictional “heroes”, I honestly don’t know how to properly address this. I just know my nieces are innocent kids who love Elena and Moana and should be allowed to cosplay their hearts out without some a-hole adult accusing them of doing something bad.
The age and sentiment matter. Some will disagree, but it’s my opinion.

My last answer didn’t make sense because I clicked on the wrong question. I thought I was answering @zy_cv’s question about toxic masculinity, when in fact I clicked on the question above it by mistake. I deleted the error, sorry for the confusion. 👋🏼

Have you ever played paintball, lasertag or airsoft? What'd you think of it? How did it go for you? 🔫

Not possible in my condition.
