Are you sure it’s not tarnish? It can look like rust. Check out the Wikipedia on tarnish for more info. It explains what it is, shows a photo of what it can look like (it resembles rust), and what you can do to remove it.

I was chatting with an ol' friend and we were talking about people who wear glasses as a fashion item, not bc they have eye problems. I mean, I breathe fashion, but there's only so much intake I can take. She said it's disrespectful to those who can't see without them, like herself. Your opinion?
I don’t see a problem with it, pun intended. 😆 I am very vision impaired but even my little nieces have fake eye glasses that they play with and wear a lot because they think they’re cool. I don’t really find that problematic, but your friend has a right to their opinion.
