Are you a person that likes to be around alot alot of people? Or do you kinda like to stick with little crowds? Or you don't mind either? Big or little crowds.
I keep debating myself on a mobility scooter. I don’t want to need it, but the fact is, I would be able to do more if I had it. It’s a non-issue right now with the pandemic, however.
I don’t want to talk on another application, sorry. Please don’t take it personally. It’s just my policy.I did take an Islam course also (as well as Hinduism, Judaism, and Buddhism) and I’m glad I did. I recommend it to anyone wants a better understanding of the origin and application of these religions and their scriptures.Let’s move on to other topics. 😁
I agree. Kemetic people understood that science and spirituality intertwined. But I do take issue with one book being given so much weight when it’s been proven factually untrue. To a small tribe, their piece of land is the world. We know that the Jews weren’t the first people on the planet.
I agree. Much of the Old Testament was plagiarized from older writings, including but not limited to the Epic of Gilgamesh, which is Assyrian mythology. Learning that was a game-changer for me. I did take a course on Judaism and have a strong opinion about their system, however I practice what I preach and respectfully let them be. Recently in the U.S., they have suffered from terroism, as I know they have elsewhere, and I have great empathy for that. But I also stress that no religious entity is fundamentally innocent. What is happening in the region you are referencing is especially sad and frustrating. It would be a different world if we all learned to coexist.
How is it people know so much about God having never read the Bible in its totality inclusive historical and cross culture. Physics is the study of matter in its various states down to its finite components. Is then a scientist more adept at understanding the complexity of God than a theologian?
You pose an interesting question. I think if people would do more research into the history of religion and scripture, not just in their corner of the world, but from a multicultural point of view, they would have a great deal more understanding of what they’re reading, why it was written in the first place, and whether or not it should be applied today. There are some theologians who have made this their goal and their life’s work, which is why I keep talking about the importance of unbiased religious education. For me personally, that was Harvard University’s World Religions Through Their Scriptures series. I happen to think God and Science coexist just fine, and in fact must if we are to survive. Ignorance is deadly.
I understand from your words that Christ is not God.
It’s perfectly fine to believe that if you want to, as long as you’re not harming/oppressing other people. That’s the issue entirely. I spent more than two decades studying the Bible and promoting/celebrating all things Christian. There’s nothing wrong with faith or spirituality in itself, but humans are deeply flawed in that they feel led to control everyone else. Evangelism in all religions have historically been abusive and destructive. Not because of God, but because humans are idealist control freaks. They live in fear of anything that doesn’t feel familiar, and think they have to change it to be free. I was that person too, for a long time. Self-awareness, unbiased education, and genuine respect for others’ autonomy is the key to truly being free. I learned this in adulthood, and live with a lot of regret. I still acknowledge Christianity, observe holy days, and pray sometimes, because doing those things are harmless. I get to believe whatever I want. I do not get to harass others to believe what I want. That’s really the bottom line.
It was a drink - dad let me try beer when I was very small and I think I vomited. I truly hate everything about it from the smell to the way people act drinking it.
Do you like to watch airplanes and jets fly? Is it fascinating to you or not really?
This isn’t something I can safely talk about publicly, as it involves other people.
What do you think about Christ?
I think he had the right ideas in regards to treating the sick, poor, immigrants, children, etc. American Christianity has been so tainted by politics that they’ve forgotten how to treat people. Nothing about what’s happening in this country right now is Christ-like, in fact, the exact opposite. I’ll not be associated.I don’t much care for him insisting he was the only way to know God or go to Heaven. That’s classic cultism that is seen over and over throughout history, before and after him, in both ancient and current times. It’s the reason he was killed. He could have done a lot more good had he not turned the focus onto himself as everyone’s Savior. But I love how he stood up to the Pharisees, and defended the innocent.I recommend the Harvard course Christianity Through Its Scriptures. It’s very enlightening. https://www.edx.org/course/christianity-through-its-scriptures
