Why are people mocking those who are trying to get back to work and put food on the table during the COVID-19 crisis?
I don’t think those are the people being mocked. It’s the fake patriotic, “gimmie mah constitutional freeeeedum”, irrational BS that is the issue. Like, boohoo, your local sports bar and pedicure shop are closed for a month. Let me play my tiniest violin for you while your neighbor is drowning in their own body fluids, alone in ICU.
I’m sorry businesses have been hurt, but public health is a priority. And for those who complain that it’s only the sick and elderly dying, they are both horribly wrong, and devaluing people’s lives. As far as I’m concerned, let all of the rebel punks go lick the pavement on Bourbon Street for all I care. People that heartless deserve whatever happens to them. The problem is that their decisions also affect innocent people, and that’s not ok. That’s why rules are necessary.
I hope we see more stimulus payments for the general public, and larger, more effective grants for businesses that have suffered. That’s what every government SHOULD be focusing on, to keep people safe and sustained until the pandemic ends. Alas, capitalism always wins in my country, so we’re basically screwed. Thanks ‘Merica.

I’m surviving, thanks. Quarantine is merely an inconvenience, not a catastrophe for me. I am concerned for others who are affected way worse. Still no stimulus, but not in dire need of anything (except medical care, but I digress).
Otherwise, just dealing with my usual daily life with neuromuscular disease. Staying alive and functional is a challenge, to say the least.

How was your first love? ?
It was turbulent, painful, and quite frankly stupid. I was a church puppet. I had no common sense and no will to stand up for myself. I was conditioned to be submissive, codependent, and gracious to any man who gave me attention. I was a doormat, and almost nothing like the feisty, independent person I am today. I have some issues to work through still after all of these years, but the important thing is that I’m much smarter and safer now. Live and learn.
