In the US it normally refers to weight. It depends on who is saying it, and the attitude in which they mean it. The context matters.

It’s only escapism. Depression is a real medical condition that is treatable/manageable but there is no known cure.

Who gets to write history?

I assume academic scholars who have devoted their careers to writing curricula. I’m not familiar with the process since I didn’t get far enough in college (due to disability) to achieve my goals, one of which was an Educational Psych major and History minor. I’m sure the content written for history textbooks is peer-reviewed and approved before publishing.

Non-existent in my neighborhood. I tried last year and only saw 2 kids, and one of them didn’t want anything I had. I ended up giving all of my treats to the homeless shelter.
