Before the SPM result were out,did you expect that you can get straight As?

Truthfully, not really. I felt like I screwed up my Bio papers. I really did felt like I screwed up big time. And I even had a dream that I got a C for Biology, so I was really surprised when I went to pick up my results and saw an A+ for my Bio. (I almost fell down flat on the floor because of the shock)

But what makes me wondering is i knew some people who managed to get petronas but they didn't get mara. As what i know,petronas is one of the scholarship that quite hard to get.

What makes me wonder is why my friend, who scored 9A+ and was in the Top 50 SPM 2011, never scored any interviews by any scholarships before she found out about the National Award.

God decides who will get what in life, so no matter what you do, no matter how good you are and how well-prepared you are, if the things you are after are never meant for you, well, nothing can ever change that fact.
You can work all you want, but in the end, He has the final say.

Do you think mara interview is hard?

Honestly speaking, I think it's useless. You don't actually get anything from it (by you, I meant MARA itself). My year, for instance, is a case study in groups. While you can see who can speak and think and how the applicants discuss among themselves, you don't actually see individual personalities, traits, strengths and weaknesses.
Last year's batch, another example, is only an IQ test, which is completely BS if you ask me. 'Cause you don't even know if they can converse in English properly, or can even think critically and rationally.
So yeah. They're not hard.
And I seriously hope MARA comes up with better interview process for their applicants, or else it'd be a waste of money and time to invest in less capable students (not that I'm saying the MARA students are not capable, it's just that some of them aren't even really into what they're doing and stuff)

I don't think so. 'Cause, 1) I don't go around trying to make guys interested in me and 2) I try to make it obvious that I have someone.

Whichever that is cheaper / free, 'cause I like going to both of them and 'cause I'm cheap like that. Lol.

if i don't do well in my entire highschool years but i get good results for spm or if i only do well in form 4 and form 5, do you think there are chances of me getting accepted into universities in the States?

They would want to see improvements in your scores, so if you were once really bad and gradually got better, that'd be a sign of improvement. At least you're trying to improve yourselves, instead of giving up.

Can ADFP students not take Calculus? I heard that Calculus is pretty hard...

Dude, when you go to the US, it'd be way harder, so suck it up and face it. (Plus it'd be so much easier taking it in Malaysia, trust me)

If I take IGCSE, can I apply for MARA scholarship? cause as far as i know, Mara scholarship's only for students like those who get excellent results for their SPM

I doubt it, but you can try. :)

Compulsory for all Science students. Arts students would take Calculus for business.

Are you returning to malaysia using mara allowance or your parents paid for it?

My Mum paid for it. But technically it could be covered by the allowances MARA gives for the summer anyway.

Probably. Have heard of it somewhere before.

Are Muslim women w hijab being oppressed and discriminate in the US? Do Muslim women w hijab just mingle within themselves and do not have many friends? I'm quite scared w all the news abt headscarf discrimination over there.

Ehhhh, no.
It kind of depends on where you are in the States, but overall, the people here are quite open about it. Personally, I feel quite welcomed here. People have questioned about why I wear the hijab and all, and they're fine with it. They're fine with me not being able to have contacts with guys and they respect my boundaries.
If you go down south, then it might be a bit of a problem. As two of my newest friends that I've just met a couple of days ago, they said how people in the South are a bit more 'closed' as compared to people elsewhere, but since I haven't been to the South or heard anything from anyone living there, I can say anything much.
But don't worry, they're quite cool and relaxed, so you'd be fine.
