Aa I'm sorry, this is so forgetful of me. Haven't properly thanked you for answering my question on MARA's appeal, I even asked you twice. So thank you, really thank you :) and if you don't mind, how long was the time gap between the first announcement and the appeal one during your time?

Errr, I can't really remember how long the time gap was. Wait.... *checking my past blog posts* OK so the results for the first intake were released on 1st June, 2012. And the results for the appeal came out at the end of June / real early July (I think it was the former, since by 3rd/4th July I've already made my decision to move to INTEC and stop A-Levels).

You've been to NYC right? Did you go to Broadway, Times Square or the Empire States Building?? And is NYC as awesome as what people claimed it to be? And have you ever seen a musical (not necessarily in Broadway)?
I only spent three days in NYC, and all I went to was to the top of the rock (Rockeller Center), making a night YOLO trip to Brooklyn and a day trip to the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island.
And I'm not so sure, I guess I'm not much of a big city kind of person, I guess? I know my friends loved NYC, but it's just not the place for me, I think. It's fine as a tourist spot, but living there, probably not. -.-

Oh, trust me, my tolerance level is really high. And while some of you perceive it as 'patient answers', I call it 'sarcasm'.
Where did you stay when you were in Intec? How is the accomodation like ? Was it a shared room and how did you do the laundry? And were you catered?

Laundry: I go home every weekend so I do my laundry at home. There are also washing machines available with 'ampaian' to dry out your laundry.
Catering: Hell no. Lol. You're pretty much responsible for that yourself. There's a lot of mamak and restaurants around so you'll be fine.

Yes, masuk as freshman. A-Levels susah nak transfer credits, certain subjects and certain universities je boleh. Sebab A-Levels memang engineered for UK-universities, bukan US universities. Kalau tahu nak pergi ke US, try not to take A-Levels la.
Tapi, still, education kot. Mana ada rugi kalau dapat belajar. Ilmu kot. Tak penting pun grad awal kalau otak tak belajar apa-apa.

umur akak dengan local student kat sana sama ke diorang muda 1-2 tahun
Dyorang muda setahun dua. Tapi macam takde masalah sangat pun sebab satu kelas tu boleh campur from freshman to senior, so memang la ada je yang tak sama umur, sebab satu kelas campur 4/5 batches sekaligus.

Kalau dapat offer from luar negara, go on ahead, apply je la for MARA kalau nak.

Hmm, to make it short, I am a very very very competitive person. I *used to* take competition (academically, etc) very seriously. Like, back in school(s), I don't like it when other students get higher grades than me. It makes me want to study harder to I could improve my scores. It helps, in a way, but too much competitiveness isn't good for your health (mental, that is). 'Cause the thing is, everyone is good at something, and no one can be exceptionally good at everything there is in the world.
Which is why, in the US, since everyone is taking different combinations of classes every semester, basically there is no one you can fairly compete with but yourself. You may feel like competing with another person in your Math class, for example, to see who gets the higher grade. But it may not be a fair fight if you're only taking four classes, but he's (or she's) taking five or six other classes.
Ultimately, being in the US curbs my competitiveness, and instead of trying so hard to be better than everyone else, I try to compete with myself and try to be better than I was before (aka previous semesters).

Is it possible to change course? Can I know how did you manage to change your course?
"Hey. You can try, but it'd take a looooooooooong time. Trust me. I told MARA I wanted to change my course in my first month in INTEC, and they told me to wait until my allowances are in for the first time before submitting my official appeal letter. However, since my allowances did not come on until the first semester is over, I decided to head over to MARA HQ and send in my letter anyway. MARA, however, LOST my letter, and I had to resubmit my letter to them. After months of waiting, I finally got my approval letter for my course change appeal in April 2013, 4 months before I fly off to the US ._.
It's annoyingly complicated and long, since MARA has a lot of students in its programs and it's hard to keep track of everyone at the same time. But you can try. :)"
