Hey Syaza! When you first flew to the US for your studies, did you fly with Malaysia Airlines? How long did the whole journey take? Where did you transit?

Hello :)
Yes, I flew with Malaysia Airlines. KLIA -> Narita, Tokyo -> Los Angeles -> Chicago
I can't actually remember exactly how long it took, but on average, flights to and from Malaysia to USA take about 22-30 hours or so (including transit).

A level memang takde course work yang guna lappy kan? Rasanya macam nak beli, tapi rasa nak tunggu pulak 😂

1. That depends on where you do your A-Levels.
2. That also depends on what you want to use your laptop for.
3. While you may not necessarily use the laptop in class, it may be helpful for:
(a) Any presentation that you may need to do.
(b) Note-taking.
(c) Doing past year problems (by downloading them on your laptop).
(d) Watching movies at nights after studying.
(e) Researching up stuff.
(f) Writing personal statements / researching on universities, etc.
I would also suggest waiting until the first month of classes, so that you can see what type of laptop you will need, since you would have a better sense of what is expected of you in class.
:)

Hello, Syaza! Correct me if I'm wrong, but ADFP students at intec will be separated into 2 groups; science & non-science right? Does that mean biotech, engineering, and actuarial science students will be studying the same subjects? Thank you in advance :)

Hello :)
Yes, that was how it was during my time. For last year's batch, most of them are Engineering students, so there's only one class for non-science students. I'm not sure how it is now, that depends on how many Science and Non-Science students INTEC gets.
Biotech, Engineering & Actuarial Science may have the same core classes, but the electives would be different (ie Engineering take more Physics, Chemistry and Engineering classes while Actuarial Science take C++ classes and Biotech take Biology classes, etc).
But then again, it all depends on the number of students that INTEC gets, and however they wish to plan the classes.

Yes it does! Hoping that you're going to be one of the best educators for our future leaders! In share Allah :)

Awww thank youuu! InsyaAllah, doakan ye! :)

thank you syaza for the answers! keep helping and motivating others. I really admire your hardwork and dedication, and I wish you the best of luck. :)

Awww, thank you! You're very much welcome, and I wish you all the best in life too! :)

Sorry if this will offend you. If your ultimate goal in life is to be a teacher; educator. So why you do acturial science then?

Educator, yes.
Teacher, not necessarily.
One does not need to be a teacher to be an educator.
One does not need to have a teaching certificate to be an educator.
I chose to do Actuarial Science because I find it interesting. It really is interesting, and I like a good challenge in my life. While I may not pursue the actuarial industry as a career in the near future, the skills and knowledge that I gained throughout my years studying Actuarial Science can be applied in many different fields.
I believe in the fact that you can choose to major (study) in whatever program in university / college, but if you put your efforts into it, you can venture out into a myriad of other career paths after graduating (other than going into the 'super professional' career path like the medical or law world, since you WILL need qualifications for those).
I believe in flexibility, and I believe that despite majoring in Actuarial Science, I can be a good educator should I decide to continue in another field. I trust in my own self, knowing that I will do whatever it takes, even if it's a super challenging route, to achieve my goals and to fulfill my passion, be it in the typical education world (school / university) or in life in general.
I value knowledge, and I value passion. Both are important in life, and you can never have enough of both, no matter what you do. :)
Hope this answers your question :)

hi, I read on your blog that you will return to the States on July 27th, and that is like a month earlier till your fall term starts right? What's your plan for that 1 month? just curious.

Yep. Planning on working, travelling for a bit (if money allows it), moving out from apartment and moving in to a new studio apartment (living alone next year woohoo) and possibly celebrating my birthday there 😊

I heard no adfp student could achieve 4 flat at intec, is it true? based on your experience there?

That depends on your own mentality. While it may be hard, if you put in enough effort, it is possible.
