Choose one thing that really matters to you and write about it. As for me, I don't really remember what I wrote for mine (like, seriously, after helping others with their essays, I tend to get things a little bit mixed up).

Well, think about what's really significant in your life. Think about what's important in your life, what matters the most to you.

For example (NOTE: these are just random examples that I can think of at the moment and they may or may not be real answers to the question, since it is pretty wide of a scope and you can write about anything)

1) Say, an applicant is really close to his grandparents when he was young, and always spend his weekends with them. Now that they've passed on, he realized that a lot of his friends don't really appreciate the fact that they still have the privilege of meeting and talking and helping their grandparents out. And so he writes about that, the connection between grandchildren / grandparents and about the things that you can learn from it.

2) An applicant is volunteering at a pet shelter for stray cats and dogs, and writes about how they (the stray animals) have feelings just like us humans, and that they deserve to be loved and cared and looked after and all.

3) An applicant may realize that his peers are not really showing the proper respect to their elderly (lecturers, teachers, etc), and write about that.

---

4) An applicant may write about how the use of technology is disrupting the communication between friends and family members, since a lot of people are constantly checking their phones instead of paying attention to their surroundings.

---

5) Some may write about their surroundings (nature, environment, etc), as people don't really pay attention to them. Maybe the flowers outside your apartment have bloomed, or changed colors, or something, and you might not even notice that.

6) Some may write about the weekly time they spend on their hobbies/interests, and how why it matters to them.

It doesn't have to be a completely BIG thing, it can be just a small thing. Like, I think I wrote about pursuing my dream for writing. I was writing something along the line of like, even though it's a small and trivial dream, one shouldn't give up on it just because it's trivial, or even if it's stupid. Because it's your dream(s), so no matter what people say or criticize about it, you can't really give up on it. You'll just have to go on pursuing your dreams because, in the end, it is YOUR dream(s) and YOUR life, so why would you let what others say and think about it/them stop you?

So that was mine. I wrote about what I love the most, which is writing, and how I coped with the criticisms and obstacles that were in my way of achieving my dream. It's not a huge deal, like, it's just writing, but it's something that is important to me, and I just wrote about it.

Kawan yang entah macam mana aku boleh kenal, yang entah macam mana boleh rapat, yang entah macam mana first time jumpa boleh just 'click' begitu sahaja, dengan selamba badak boleh fall into the same steps and semacam ada this one synchronization between us (apakebenda aku merepek ni?)

Kawan yang go through all the odds untuk buat aku gelak and ketawa and happy, and kawan yang tak pernah jemu dengar aku complain and nangis and emo tak tentu pasal. Kawan yang tahu, despite the fact yang aku selalu bajet kuat and tabah and all, behind all the masks, I'm just a kid who needs a shoulder to cry on.

And dialah kawan yang tak jemu-jemu dengar aku cerita pasal buah hati pengarang jantung aku. Trust me. Bukan calang-calang orang dapat bertahan dengar aku cakap pasal A every single minute of every single day, tapi budak ni entah macam mana boleh bertahan.

So, yeah. Aku tak tahu aku merapu apa sebenarnya, but budak ni, si Wan Mohamad Ali ni, he's a friend for life. If you treat him well, if you respect him and genuinely care for him, you'll have his trust and friendship until the day you die. No, wait, he'll be your friend even after you're dead, 'cause once he trusts you, you play a major part in his life and he'll never leave your side, even if you throw him away.
