Should I let my sister listen to Nouman Ali Khan ? She has signed up to an upcoming course of his ,, I think it's about the Quran ,,
I don't know you or your sister, so this is a generic answer.
A man is required to provide all basic needs for his dependent womenfolk, that may include daughters, wives, sisters and mothers. The needs aren't just food, clean water and appropriate clothing, but also education.
A woman is not to be blamed for seeking her own needs if the man responsible for her fails to suffice her needs. That includes taking money - even without his permission - for her basic needs, or leaving the house - even without his permission - to seek knowledge.
Having said all that, it's your duty to ensure she receives the proper knowledge of the Qur'an and Sunnah and she needs, and if the course by ustath Nouman Ali Khan are her only access to learn the Qur'an then 1) you're already guilty of not serving her needs and 2) you don't have a right to prevent her from it.
Ustadh Nouman is a good brother with respectable knowledge, and listens promptly to advice whenever someone gives it to him privately. In overall he is upon the sunnah, has studied from scholars of Sunnah and teaches tafseer that is well known to ahlusunnah. I have listened to several lectures and he has some mistakes, but who doesn't? Nevertheless, the benefits in his lectures, especially for the laity, such as connecting them to the Qur'an, deciphering the text, making them understand the message of God, are immense.
