I wish I was born with arabic to understand what you’re even talking about below 😞. I’m still spending 20 hours a week trying to get the basics of sarf down, and I royally suck at it.

Sarf is beautiful, amazing and fluid. It is mind boggling and opens up new doors of thinking that you wouldn't be able to conquer through any other discipline of knowledge.
The debate on whether language was created or developed becomes so much more interesting when you learn about Sarf.
Think of Nahw (grammar) as linear algebra. Sarf (morphology) is calculus.
It's almosf like water surfing the language, except that it's actually sarf-ing. 😍
Okay I sound like one of those crazy teachers who are so passionate about a subject that the students aren't. I'll stop now, but believe me, if you master Sarf you'll love it as much as I do.

Have you read the book حديقة التصريف, and if so, what level of Sarf is it on?

It's a contemporary poem good for beginners

Haha I don't Think that's possible to get ijazah in in these Three qira'at Shu3bah, Qalun and Warsh (Ijazah in Hafs from my dad) bcz of no teachers availabe in my area. Khair inshaAllah, I Think I should find other stuff hehe. Jazak Allahu khairan for taking your time to answer a miskeen

Excuses don't work with me

Where is the strongest presence of the Hanbalī School in the world where someone could theoretically travel and learn it? I've heard people recommend Qassim. Any information about it?

For fourteen centuries, the Hanbali mathhab was always a minority. It was bullied for the most part by governors and rulers who didn't want the mathhab to expand, so they persecuted and imprisoned the scholars of the mathhab.
It was also distorted in the last three centuries by people in Saudi Arabia claiming to be followers of the mathhab while they were changing the mathhab to match their opinion.
There are Hanbali scholars in Saudi Arabia who haven't been impacted by this, but they are very few.
Assuming your Arabic is fluent, Sheikh Amir Bahjat began a new Hanbali program, just four days ago (duration is approx 20 months), via telegram, to memorize five easy Hanbali poems. Each day he sends three verses, with explanation and a quiz.
It's an excellent program for beginner Hanbali students.

Greetings, what kind of advice and recommendations can you give to those young Muslims who live in Ottawa and do not any versus to use during prayer and even not praying properly??

Being prevented from reading the Qur'an regularly is one of the most severe punishments which most Muslims are unaware of. The Qur'an is the Speech of God, if you haven't read the Qur'an today, it is because God did not want to honour you with its recitation, so seek forgiveness, and plead to the Almighty to open His doors of mercy, and enable you to recite His word day and night.

I have a friend whose dad is a Sheikh from Madinah and Azhar. I went to the friends wedding and they were blasting music. I asked his dad why since I thought it was not permissible, but he gave some reason that didn’t make much sense to me about why it’s okay. Do you know anything about this issue?

I know that Madina and Azhar have extremely poor quality of assessment, and are not measures of knowledge nor righteousness.

Have you read the book, “A History if God,” by Karen Armstrong? If so, what’s your opinion on it?

Meh, is my response to all her books.

AsalamuAlaykum can you elaborate upon what kinds of surfaces are acceptable to use to make tayammum? Is it literally we just use dirt from the outside, or can we use something like the dust on bookshelfs, and the like? I've always been confused about this.

Earth.

What is the ruling for handshake with women in a work environment, it is a big burden on me when dealing in meetings or with other companies reps. I am asking because i know that Saudi scholars have given the one minded answer without context for people in western society

Prohibited whether you're in Saudi, at work, and on the moon.

My wife regularly refuses to have intercourse with me (mainly due to practicality issues - tiredness, uni the next day etc.). We have a very loving relationship, but this can be frustrating for me (and we've spoken about it with each other, but it doesn't seem to register). Any advice?

Teach her, politely, that this isn't an appropriate way for a Muslim woman to treat her husband. There are several hadeeths specific to this regard.

Is it permissible to lie to my wife if she asks me questions about my past? She asks about other women etc. and there are some questions if I tell her the truth she'll be jealous and fight with me.

Jealous is better than careless 😁👌

Shaykh, I hope you never become famous so we can always monopolize your knowledge ❤️

I hope I never become famous while I'm alive.
If you're sincere, there are hundreds of major scholars who are in their seventies and eighties, and with their death their knowledge will die with them. Hurry and catch some of their knowledge before you lose them, and end up with an ignorant like me as your only choice.

Can a person who already has qadhaa' prayers to do lead a congregational prayer?

If they intentionally abandoned them? In our mathhab: no.
But if someone forgot they didn't pray Dhuhr and led people in Asr then it's valid, and he can pray Dhuhr later, and doesn't need to repeat Asr.

Sheikh i pray that soon your low battery symbol will turn into a charged one! May the almighty give you with nothing but the best in dunya and akhira. Amin

Ameen. Alhamdolillah

What should I tell my 12 year old about Halloween? His friends want him to join them in their celebration? He wants to know why not. Thanks

Whatever you do, be honest and build trust and mutual respect. The last thing you want is for your child to hate you or lie to you and do something behind your back.
Keep him busy with beneficial things that are suitable for his age.
