http://puu.sh/kmQaT/de96906657.png what kind of joke is this? a lot of appeals? from who? dont do like every 2nd osu player wanna appeal for sth and just unban goddamn

I have literally nothing to do with appeals. Complain to someone else at an official place and not through some third party site.

So let's say the new scoring system is fully implemented, people who have managed to get SS scores with the old scoring system who would actually have gotten worse accuracy due to the slider hit-timing, will those scores be kept?, And how will it look when you view a replay of an old score? 100s&SS?

We are so far from this happening that we haven't even thought about how we will deal with old scores yet. For now this is just for OWC and there is no further info regarding when or how this will replace the old scoring system.

For the new score system for OWC, 1000 combo with 80% acc vs 500 combo 99%. Who wins?

Assuming 1000 combo is FC and 500 combo is 1 miss right in the middle, then it'd be almost the same score with the current 70/30 ratio. The score system currently is still very combo-heavy.

PLEASE, and i beg you please, DONT buff HR again if you dont nerf separated streams (with the way the algorithm still takes spacing notes as a high speed). Is it that embarrassing to show Aim/Speed/Accuracy values and people seeing how shitty slow 175bpm hr maps are rated like a 220+bpm stream map?

Why are you even talking about pp? This is all about the new scoring system, chill.

i think bringing in the acc-requiring slider heads so bluntly is potentially a game-breaking idea. i hope some more thoughts are put into this

We definitely didn't want to do that for years already. osu!stream doesn't at all already have this type of scoring metric. At no point in time do we ever consider how new features impact the game balance. That's how we roll.

If the new scoring system is fully implemented, will the current scoring system will still be available for multi and unranked solo (as a mod or something like that)?

I don't know yet.

Wouldn't this be the perfect time to clean up this double ranking system and bring score and pp together, making score v2's combo+accuracy total based on the respective pp totals of the map instead of this fixed 1m?

As already said in my last answer, since pp _will_ change in the future score would then also need to be adjustable retroactively. Furthermore this would make score very complicated for the layman to understand. Right now with score v2 there are just 2 short formulas (combo and acc) and some ratio by which they are weighted together (+ spinner bonus) which makes it very easy to understand and compare.

http://ask.fm/Tom94/answer/133204392910 please no, if you do so ask the community if they want this system...

https://osu.ppy.sh/forum/t/220119 Seems to me like there is some desire. :p
Making pp and score completely equal is actually something we consider, but the additional complexity and the fact that scores need to be retroactively adjustable (since pp _will_ get balancing patches) make this very challenging. At the moment making score similar, but simpler, than pp looks like a good route.

what is the pp split at the moment for combo/accuracy, the blog post on the new scoring system says the 70/30 split was loosely based on pp

pp currently rates Aim, Speed and Accuracy roughly equally. Aim and Speed depend mostly on combo (and respective map difficulty) and Accuracy depends... on accuracy (and OD). So assuming the OD and difficulty of the map roughly fit, then pp's Combo/Accuracy ratio is roughly 2/1, which is close to 70/30.

wait that scoring system is to be fully implemented across the WHOLE game? i thought it was OWC only.

Eventually, yes. We plan on making more changes to it, though, until that happens. Such as balancing mods a bit better again. HR for instance right now is worth way too little for the difficulty it adds.

Regarding the new scoring system :http://blog.ppy.sh/post/130830644563/20150910 "During play your score may decrease to account for accuracy loss." I realise that the system is still very new, but is it likely for this to be changed? Having your score decreasing through the song is weird imo.

It's necessary because of maths. You can't have the kind of non-linear accuracy scaling which we want without doing this. (The difference between 100% and 99% should be more impactful than the difference between 90% and 89%.)
Well, technically I am lying, there would be a way by always giving you the score you had assuming the rest of your play was only misses. If we did this however, your accuracy score portion would only start rising significantly near the very end of the map and that arguably is even worse.

When is osu! going to be updated? Like a big update not only some bug fixes. 'Cause there are so many things wich need to be changed.

When someone programs the new features / changes. Bugfixes are more important since they keep players from playing the game right now. If you want small new features, go use cutting edge.

Will osu!mania pp algorithms ever come out of beta and actually have some changes that aren't a bug fix? I mean apart from DT pp getting enabled and the disabled we had none.

At some point yeah, most likely. If either I miraculously will have a ton of time out of nowhere (unlikely) or someone else will do work on it when osu! is open source.

https://ask.fm/Tom94/answers/132954290638 I thought you could just call glViewport and just operate on the area the game itself uses and draw in the letterboxed black area seperately. Things like twitch chat (maybe basic scripting) dont even need a high framerate so impact will be minimal/optional.

That would require major changes of the graphics engine. Not going to happen for such a relatively minor feature while we have significantly more important things to deal with.

Is it possible (or maybe even planned) to allow using parts like menu or chat in fullscreen mode while keeping playing part letterboxed? I think it will look nice

Not planned and not going to happen. If osu! would use more than the letterboxed area, then it'd also run slower as if the resolution was as high as the bounding box of all the screen estate osu! would be using.
