Do you think it would be a good idea to breakdown the difficulty for maps > 5.25 stars? Like 5.25~5.75 being Extreme level 1, 5.75~6.25 Extreme level 2, 6.25~6.75 Extreme level 3 and so on

Yeah, then we can call extreme level 1: X, level 2: XX and level 3: XXX. I see where this is going. I'm ready.
On a more serious note, I don't think we need that. I feel like having star rating itself as indication is enough already at that point. Only a small minority of osu! players can even play maps with >5.25 stars.

Would it be possible for you to switch back to ppv1 for a day as a special present for everyone that constantly sends you shit about how bad your pp system is?

That's not possible. Too much computation required, too much confusion spawned in the community, too little people who would enjoy it. And I don't even know where the old code for ppv1 and whether it would still work.

OpenGL on this 2006 computer (cuttingedge) is giving me not more than 40fps, mostly 20. If you implement it, ppl with old computers will not be able to play osu anymore.

OpenGL is definitely not supposed to run significantly slower than DirectX. If you have performance issues, then _PLEASE_ for your own sake of having it fixed go on cutting edge, press Ctrl+F11 to enable a debug overlay for your framerate and take a screenshot during laggy gameplay.
Then just post that screenshot there: https://osu.ppy.sh/forum/t/259747&start=840

https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/3139746 just see fps, cuttingedge opengl fullscreen running WITHOUT PERFORMANCE ISSUES GUYS

Obligatory block because of way this question was asked. But hey, I took the opportunity and looked into optimizing the user display either way, because also on DirectX it ran like shit.
Should run like 100x faster on cutting edge now. That's no exaggeration. :p

Hi tom! I've recently downloaded tue version of osu from 2012 and I didn't update it. Could I play online (and be fine I guess - not get banned or smt)?

I have no idea if online mode works. Also don't ask me about stuff like bans. I can also only guess.

The current difficulty system seems to underrate gimmicky maps a lot, like Dopamine and T-T-Techno for instance. Is there any plan on making changes to it in the near future?

As said about 1000 times already, it's super duper non-trivial to do this correctly. I don't know how without severely breaking existing stuff. I've tried a few times over the past years. There are some new ideas around (partly from people around here, thanks again :) ) which I plan on trying in the future, but no guarantees stuff will work.

Hi Tom. My question is here: http://puu.sh/hUySM/451b19a9c4.pdf Thanks for reading.

How is a "playing ability" any different from "skill"? You could get a 99% score on an easier map for equal pp as a 95% score on a harder map. The scores can still be equally hard, despite different "saturations", so I don't quite see the point.
The only actual advantage I see is to basically have a 100% correct tillerino built-in telling you how much pp you can possibly get on that song.

Fullscreen on 640x480 is broken on cutting edge http://i.imgur.com/owvtrAO.png on stable it works fine. Note: i have a low-end(old) PC as higher resolution will result a heavy stutter/lag

Please report this in the cutting edge thread in the forums. My ask.fm is not technical support. I'll forget your problems eventually and never fix them if you post them here. :p

What is your #1 priority in osu atm?

Fixing cutting edge bugs (this includes OpenGL acting up on some people's hardware), improving cutting edge performance (it already is way over stable, but there are remaining things to be done).

Why does HR in CTB give a bigger score multiplier than DT?

CtB was added sooooo long before I even started playing, I have not the slightest clue. I don't even properly know what's hard in CtB as a player.

http://ask.fm/Tom94/answer/127979240142 and how's this going? will it be soon? Is there a chance for it to happen?

There is a chance for it to happen. We recently changed the server infrastructure for pp around to allow it to operate independent of peak loads (you probably noticed that pp delays practically disappeared in the last few days) and thus I can now potentially increase the load in terms of storing those extra things.
Until OpenGL is out and stable and per-mod scores are added this won't happen, though. I want to focus on these other things first.

is it possible if i can freeze osu folder as current stable release and keep playing without any auto update ( because opengl is not running for me ( just a question )

Everything is possible, just don't let osu! access the internet. You'll have to google for how such a thing would work, though, I don't know it out of the top of my head.

Is there any chance that fullscreen mode is possible in OpenGL?

It already is on cutting-edge and beta!

Do you get payed for doing your thing with pp? Is it worth spending your time on? Opportunities in the future with osu?

I do get paid for my work, yes, but considering I'm soon graduating from the top technical university in Switzerland there would be a very high income bar to convince me to work on osu! full-time. I'd expect it to stay a hobby. :)

is osu ur hobby or job ?

I mostly do it because I find it fun, so I'd call it more of a hobby. It however also is my part-time job next to education.

So, it would be something like AR : 10.3 (base 9) OD : 9,6 (base 8) HP : 9 (base 7) ?

No, increasing OD is not the same as speeding up the game logic. When you increase OD 300s, 100s and 50s have different relative changes than when just speeding things up.

mania combo doesnt effect pp, right ?

Not directly. Getting decent combos increases your score which as a consequence increases your pp. Maina pp depends on score.
